North Holiday Park — Hotel in Benbrook

It’s a really great place to take family and friends we thought . Saturday , 7 - 25 - 20 , my wife and some of our friends and family spent the day there . Everybody had a really good time except our neighbor . She is handicapped and has a service dog . After the gate attendants finished yelling at her and calling the park ranger on her at the front gate for no reason at all . we discovered after talking to other park guest that had dogs with them that the gate attendants only did this to our friend . So they definitely discriminated against our friend . She is a very kind and caring person that never has anything bad to say about anybody . I saw her crying over this . She felt threatened and very scared that she was single out for some reason . She was singled out . Discriminated against . I confronted the two individuals about this as we were leaving , and all I got were lies . One of the gate attendants was laughing at me about it ....

Pulling in I had high expectations for this place. The pictures looked great and dog friendly. When we pulled in to the swim area we were told no dogs aloud. Then a lady drives by in a truck on a bull horn harping about no dogs, no glass, no fishing. We expressed our disappointment about the condition of the grounds. Glass everywhere on the floors, trash being picked through by buzzards. We ended up having to drive back home to drop off our dog. They had trash everywhere. The restrooms we found had no toilet paper so when we left our dog at home we brought our own. It is amazing how this place has such a high ratings. First, let's get this out of the way, I didn't catch any fish! Alright, not the park's fault, I get it. However, there really weren't many good, accessible fishing spots. And honestly, it was kind of dirty. I guess people can't be bothered to clean up after themselves, but whatever. The bathrooms were horrendous, to say the least. Also, I think I got ripped off at the gate. It said $2.00 per person and kids under 12 were free with a max of $5.00 a car. I had my 15 year old and my 7 year old with me. That should be $4.00. I got charged $5.00. Oh well, it's only a buck,...
