Loved this park!! The quietness was SO nice! Lots of deer live here :)) Very large to explore and walk! Right outside Benbrook so very convenient to almost anything u need or would like! Added plus that it is an Army Corp Park and therefore gives a discount for the America the Beautiful Pass :) Employees were very kind and (for the most part) curtious and willing to help :) (one woman was just a grump ....when someone says "Hello. How are you?" You DON'T resond with "What do you want?" Especially representing a Park. There's just no need. She could have easily smiled and said "Fine. How can I help you?" ...glad I only had ONE interaction with her.) Everyone else ALWAYS had a smile on their face!! Park was built in the 50's. Most restrooms need serious updating but they are working on it! The bath house to the far right of the gatehouse has been redone and photo included:) which, was a great shower, btw, nice and hot!

Made it into Benbrook for some Christmas lights too!!

Had a weird thing while there though.... When I came into our spot the first thing I saw was a wadded up air mattress under the picnic table provided. I shrugged and pulled it to the end of the drive. Then went to hook up the electric and found a poo bucket that had to be moved for me to even plug into the box! Upon moving it, I realize VERY quickly there was "stuff" in it!!! 🤢 I walked it away from the electric post and continued on setting up. I told the gatehouse about it as we left for town. Told them I could and would move the mattress for him (older man...shouldn't have to pick up after others, understand it's his "job" but yall should JUST BE better!) to the dumpster that was right down the way but the poo bucket...well, that was ABOVE MY pay grade. I told him I wished they could go back on an old tenet that left things like that! Just shameful!! He said he wished they could too but that guy didn't "normally" do that...come to find out, people stay for the 2 week max then leave for a 16day minimum and come back for another 2weeks year round...so. we go to town. Come back. Mattress got moved to the trash. Poo bucket got moved..... to a different site where there appears to be a tent mishap. OK then. Continued on....gave my boy a shower in the camper and got him in bed... a bit later, I go to shower and there's NO water. None of the camper was working even tho it just did for my son not even an hour previous. I Google possible problems then went out to investigate. No leaks anywhere. Not under the camper or from the hose. What I did find tho...SOMEHOW my spigot was COMPLETELY shut off. About 8 plus full turns..... I'm no rocket scientist here but pretty sure the person that left his sh*t bucket and air mattress for others to clean up thought I pissed in his Cherios. Great park, people should be held accountable and told to NEVER come back. Crazy is as crazy does lol Good news was: that's all that happened. Kinda funny now. Was a Lotta nerve wrecking then...like, will my tires be sliced when I wake? Naw, just turned off the water...

We stayed two nights at Holiday COE Campground on Benbrook Lake in April. We camped at site 32 in a 36’ 5th wheel trailer. Our site was easy to access. It was a pull through site with asphalt road/pad. The road we took in, US 377 is multi lane high speed and our RV GPS directed us to a turn beyond Pearl Ranch Rd, the access road. There is a sign for the campground on the right hand side of 377 as you are driving south. Pearl Ranch Rd is a new road in great shape but overhanging tree limbs need to be trimmed which is a concern if you have a tall trailer. It’s a low traffic road so it was easy to dodge the low hanging branches. There is only one lane at the entrance station so if someone is in front of you and conducting a long conversation then it can be annoying. The attendant who checked us in was very thorough and pleasant. There are lots of trees in the campground but the overhead branches seemed to be well trimmed and the roads are easy to maneuver. We had good cell coverage with both Verizon and AT&T. The campground property is really big and spread out for the number of sites there providing a good distance between sites. Overall, the whole campground seems like it could use a bit of maintenance. Our site clearly hadn’t been cleaned in awhile. The roof of the shelter at the site looks like it had years of debris from the trees on top. There are two dump stations. One is all the way at the north end of the campground, which is only convenient for campers at the very north end. The other dump station is located just inside the main entrance which means if someone is dumping there is no place for another trailer to wait to dump without being in the way or blocking the road. This dump station has two lanes and is situated so that when dumping, your trailer is either uphill or downhill depending on how you entered. Only one lane had a working water spigot. There is a lot to do in the Fort Worth area and plenty of nearby shopping for groceries and fuel. I would...

Growing up in Fort Worth as a kid in the 80’s, we spent many weekends on Benbrook Lake and camping in the Holiday Park camp grounds. My father still takes his camper out to his favorite site In Holiday Park several times a year and we enjoy visiting him and bring his grandkids to play at the lake.

The park offers a variety of amenities for campers and visitors year round from tent sites, equestrian lots with horse corrals, utility hookups and screened shelters - most with lake views and all with access to the boat launch, loading docks and fishing docks. There are public bathrooms with showers, dump stations for people in trailers and concrete pads with covered patio tables for picnics.

The developed trails throughout the park are perfect for biking, hiking, skateboarding and horseback riding. The deer are so accustomed to visitors throwing deer corn that they come every evening at dusk to see what’s available. My father has been feeding them for so long that they follow him and his feed buckets of corn to the fields where he dumps it. He’s seen turkey’s, bobcats, skunks, possum and birds galore!

He has a favorite campsite that he books several times a year and pulls his boat right up to the shoreline in front of his camper and covered patio table. The campsite includes a fire pit, complete with a grill, for cooking hotdogs and s’mores! His campsite includes electricity hookups, fresh water, a paved driveway for his camper and truck and a water view where he parks his boat at night rather than hauling it back and forth from the marina. It’s pet and kid friendly with lots of space to play, tons of trees to provide shade and a lot of wildlife to enjoy. It requires reservations in advance, so call ahead to book a spot for you or your family. It has our highest...
