The positive: ||Site of conference that I was attending, so very convenient. ||- Reasonably pleasant and quite large condominium unit.||- Beautiful location||- Pleasant people at front desk.||- Rent listed as $488 for four nights which seems like a good deal||- Courteous personnel during telephone reservations and correction calls, but no ability to stop the repeat requests for contract signature on incorrect prior reservation.||- Delicious morning coffee at the office.||||The negative:||- Booking fee $75.64, even though i booked with Meredith Lodging which owns and oversees Mount Bachelor Village Resort||- Cleaning fee $110.00 even though we were required to|| - Make our own bed|| - Strip all sheets upon leaving|| - Place all towels in the same area upon leaving|| - No daily cleaning|| - No towel replacements unless we requested them and received them from the office and transported them back to our unit.|| - Run the dishwasher prior to leaving|| - Dispose of rubbish||- Actual cleaning after our departure would have taken housekeeper or other employee less than an hour. I would estimate that her share of the cleaning fee was between 10% and 20% of the $110.||- Unit was clean enough, but paint was stored in one of the two closets along with other repair materials. ||- Furniture was pretty old. ||- Mattress pad was badly torn in two places indicating that this had NOT been taken care of in previous "cleanings."||-Tax of $82.18. If this was only for the $488, then there is no complaint, but if it included booking fee and cleaning then part of this was another hidden charge.||-Booking was somewhat problematic. I requested four nights, but initial contract was for three nights. Several calls got this rectified, but at least seven emails followed from time of reservation to time of arrival requesting contract signing for the error 3-night reservation despite the successful signing of the revised 4-night reservation.||- Resort advertised its bicycles, but all bicycles had been placed in storage for the winter. This mostly makes sense, except the weather during our stay would have been ideal for bicycling.||I did sign the 4-night contract that listed charges, so that I consented to them, but they still seem excessive, since they elevated the rent charge by about 50%. ||||My advice would be to stay in a hotel. You get daily towel change and basic room cleaning and charges...
Read moreBy far the worse customer service I’ve ever experienced. Buyer beware. If you’re looking for a pleasant Bend experience, don’t stay with Merideth lodging
Booked an air bnb through who I thought was”Merideth”, not realizing it was Merideth Lodging. Same day as booked, needed to change dates of stay. Calendar showed dates were available. Told me “no can do,” but were more than happy to tell me they could add those days and charge me more, citing policy. I’ve asked for the policy and still haven’t received it.
The room, advertised as a “Serviced Apartment” was in fact a studio. They advertised it could accommodate up to three with the pull out sofa. The reality was that one person fit comfortably.
The carpet was dirty. The room obviously furnished with goodwill furnishings with no soul. The AC walled unit, original to the unit, which I’m guessing was built sometime in the 90’s, made death rattle in protest as if it would give out at a moment’s notice.
You find more cheer at the Comfort inn, and space/ amenities for less money.
I told whoever on the air bnb messenger app that I was going to check in after 4:30, as the instructions stated; no one told me the guest registration closed at 6 so I had to ask a maintenance man for help, and when I asked to change the door code, since he saw my passcode, I got one of those “rest assured” messages.
At this point in the story kids, I gave up complaining. I spent money for the room which I couldn’t get back so I stayed.
They have a pool and some hotubs. My bathroom was nice, though the toilet seat looked like it had a minor cigarette burn? The bed was the only thing I liked about this room. It needs a major decorative refurbishment.
When I spoke with neighboring tenants they also told me their nightmares with Merideth Lodging.
When I went in and personally complained in the most professional way possible, I received a corporate nasty gram on the air bnb app, again quoting policy but not actually giving me a copy. They asked why I didn’t complain about room conditions and everything else.
Would you complain anymore after a simple request of changing a door code was brushed off, they told you the wifi worked but you couldn’t connect, and wouldn’t accommodate your dates?

Read moreWe had an awful experience with Meredith Lodging who runs Mount Bachelor Village. During their subsequent outrageous dismissive and threatening behavior along with their refusal to abide by their rental agreement - I have reported them to the Oregon Department of Justice and plan to sue them in Small Claims Court. And in their They provided a room that stunk, with no hot water and a lopsided bed. They told us they wouldn't charge us for a gym use, they then did charge us. They told us this was a mistake and they would refund the money and they never refunded it. ||||Factors that indicate this unit was unsatisfactory were:||||- We were promised unit 421A which is pictured with different furnishings than unit 422A had. My wife spent a lot of time on the phone looking at pictures and selecting a unit - specifically 421A. That was not the room Meredith provided. Their rental agreement clearly says that if they don't provide the room selected the renter is ENTITLED to a refund. ||||- Unit 422A was wholly unacceptable because:||||+ The water was lukewarm at best - we were told it might be fixed by the plumber between 1 and 3 today. We don't know that that happened, but no hot water in cold weather is unacceptable.||||+ The room had an odor that made my wife sick to her stomach. It was some type of cleaning solution that gave the unit a foul smell.||||+ The bed was not fully on it's base and we did not sleep well the night we arrived. In the morning I was able to push it back on its base, but we didn't realize that was the problem until that morning.||||- In addition, we were promised complimentary gym utilization, but when we showed up, we were required to pay $30 for 2 of us for admission. We were told it would be refunded but it has not.||||I have email traffic from their representative that they consider not giving us a refund their "Definitive Decision." My response was that I would review, charge back and complain to the State or Oregon. They then said to look at the agreement about "Reveiw Extortion" - the word Extortion does not appear in the agreement. Although the entitlement to a refund for not getting the...
