There were lots of friendly staff in the lobby. Check in was quick and easy. BUT, a Wyndham sales person at the concierge desk was holding our parking pass hostage. He gave a very high pressure pitch to sign us up for a presentation the following morning. There was a free breakfast offered, but you have to pay a $20 refundable deposit, and you get 1-2 night free stay (equivalent points). We signed up for the freebies. Shortly after getting to our room, we got a call about our member number because they couldn't find it. After reading some of the fine print about what it really is (time share), we decided not to go to the presentation. We messaged the front desk and told them no thanks, and please refund our $20. A little while later we get another call from the sales guy we talked to earlier offering 7 free nights instead of two. He told us the presentation would be 1 hour max, the other lady that called about our member number said 60-90 minutes. We talked it over and figured it would take half the day to get out of there after the presentation because they wouldnt sign off on the free 7 night stay. We came here to spend time with each other, not to go to a time share pitch and to be held hostage for hours. So, we turned down the 7 free nights. Got another call the next day from the sales guy to make sure we weren't interested in the presentation. Ugh!!

We reserved a studio with full kitchen (1913). The room is great. There's everything you need for cooking and baking in the kitchen. The only downside is that the fireplace in the room can't be used for safety reasons. They are in the process of replacing them or something. The fireplace is one of the main reasons we booked. There was no mention of the non-usable fireplace in the room listing. My husband found the info buried in the fine print within several paragraphs on the website the day we checked in. I think it should have been mentioned in the listing, so we knew upfront that it wasn't usable. The room isn't very soundproofed at all. We were on the first floor and could here people walking and stomping around on the second and third floors. The Murphy bed mattress wasn't the most comfortable either.

There are several fun things to do on site. There is mini golf, frisbee golf, trail rides, ice skating (opens in another week), heated outdoor pools and hot tubs, walking trails, lending library, fitness center, tennis & pickle ball courts, complimentary coffee and water in the lobby, fireplace and seating area, tv, and computers in the lobby. There's a little theater where they show movies every evening. The movie was supposed to start at 5:30 pm, but we were the only ones there and no one came to turn it on. We asked if we could just take the DVD back to out room, and they let us. I think they would get more of a turnout for the movies if it was at 7pm instead of dinner time. Unfortunately, we were nervous to go back in the lobby to get the frisbees because we thought the sales vultures would descend again. Thankfully there were none in sight.

Overall we like the room and amenities. However, the vultures in the lobby trying to sign us up for their presentation when we checked in were a big turn off. It was totally unexpected and way over the top. They claimed to be super excited about their new way of doing things and wanting to show us how to get the most out of their program, and that the time share thing wasn't the main focus. Riiiighhht.

If we ever decide to come back, we will make it clear in our booking notes and at check in that we do NOT want any calls or presentations, and we want our parking pass without talking to the sales person first. It was a set up, because the sales guy had the parking pass before we ever showed up and checked in. We were directed to go talk to him to get it. Didn't even realize he was a sales guy at first, because he was using his super friendly build rapport tactic before launching into the pitch. I really think this is going to be a big turn off for a lot of people. It's too bad because it's a...

Management service is really bad (I'll explain) and hotel needs to invest in new equipment for rooms and doors immediately.

I had problem with noise from neighbor, spent first night not sleep till 4am. We have a little door in the middle of our rooms - really tiny and used.

Second night, around 10:30pm, I decided to ask reception for any other option (room change), because noise was terrible. And scared me. I didn't want to call reception via phone. I wanted a private conversation about options I have.

Reason - you can hear everything that happens in the neighbor room, includes TV, shower. And, for sure, neighbor can hear if you call.

Around 11:50pm something really heavy in the neighbor room felt down. Twice. The person in the room started to speaking really loud, and make noise.

I was scared, left my room, went to the street, and gave a call at 12am. Manager answered, and opened the reception for me. At 12:10am, I've explained the situation (strange and scary noise, like something felt down to the floor, and person is speaking out loud till 3am - first night, even he is in his room just by himself).

I was asking, if I can move to another room to spend this night. Manager said, hotel has no available rooms, and they can just ask security to check the neighbor room for safety.

But. Like a single girl on vacation 6 hours drive from my home and need to spend 2 more night at the hotel: I actually don't want to know who are my neighbor and don't want him to know me at 12am.

I hope no explanation needed here.

At 12am you don't want to know who are your neighbor, you want to be safety and sleep far away from your previous room.

In my situation that was not a group of teenagers making noise. It can be person in ages (sometimes, people in ages can feel comfortable speaking with themselves), or just a single man on vacation who loves drinking and speaking out loud till 3pm. Or somebody with mental illness (I don't know, I just had to listen the sounds for hours two nights in a row).

That was I tried to say.

Manager didn't ask me if I need any help, after I started to cry and left the check-in at the night. The person, who helped with everything - 2 hours after, the security officer, who found me at the swimming pool area, because it was the only place I felt okay this night. Security officer (his name is Alan, and I’m very thankful for his help) came with me to check MY room for secure. Not neighbor’s room, as manager option was.

Door between my and neighbor’s room, as I said, has a tiny door. Security checked it, and the door from my side of the room was closed, but person from another room can unlock it anytime. This’s how the door looks like.

I almost never post bad reviews, now I feel like my vacation is over. Also many of the amenities are run down, broken or uncared for. This is the season, as security, who helped me this night said. But management of the hotel needs to let people know about before staying. People can be afraid. As me at the room with unlocked door.

PS. Security - Alan, did the best to make sure I’m good. Explained the situation to manager, and asked for a better room for me to spend the night.

Please, take care, and make sure you read my review...

This trip was arranged via fiance's mother, so we do not own a timeshare but I have in the past. We were in a one bedroom unit, building 5, not owners, stayed Sun-Wed morning.

Pros: The area is beautiful so there is not a bad view to be had. We were in Bldg 5 on the second floor and the little balcony had a couple of chairs to sit out and enjoy the view. Pools were nice and clean. The room was clean but not pristine. The coffee pot needed a good cleaning but worked. Folks at the front desk were very kind and friendly even with the sales pitch aspect.

Cons: AC is sorta what we had. The weather had been unusually hot at home (Portland,OR area) and I assume in Bend also. The AC units sorta cooled the apartment down. The one in the living area smelled a bit like fish and the one in the bedroom would blow cool for awhile but then we woke up at 3am and it was almost 80 in the room. The pictures show a full refrigerator but we only had a small dorm type fridge that did not work particularly well. We had to crank it to as cold as it would go to keep our breakfast stuff and lunch meat safe to eat. WIFI is free, which is good because if I paid for it I would be pissed. It is slow and we were told at the desk we might get dropped off as there is only one modem per building. Not sure why that would cause issues other than not having the modem in a good location or bandwidth to support that many users. The lack of any kind of noise reduction or sound proofing was a bit annoying, maybe more for our neighbors as my fiance snores fairly loudly. We could clearly hear comings and goings of neighbors in the building, we could hear the tv downstairs and floors are a bit creaky. We did not need them but there were no sheets or pillows for the pull out couch. Water preasure was so low it was hard to get the shampoo all out of my hair. The lack of a resteraunt was odd for a resort. The next one is a pro and con. The kitchen had a lot of little useful items like spices, salt and pepper, coffee and filters, sponge for washing dishes etc. The bathroom, however, was lacking. A couple small bars of soap but no other toiletries at all. Not a huge complaint for me as I am a bit picky with soap and shampoo but just odd. Usually, it is all or nothing with consumables in resort rooms.

I personally have owned a timeshare with my former husband and traveled for years trading it and using the one we bought into, bearing that in mind I am at a loss with the ball drop here. I understand the sales aspect, even though it was a bit pushey here, but if sales was an aspect of having non-owners renting then putting a best foot forward would be better for business. This is not a 'resort' per say, I would say it is more a hotel with some nice amenities. It is not up to par with the resorts I have traded for and stayed at in the US and Ireland. Reading the reviews and looking at the discrepancies in pictures between management and users I would have to say that if you own here it is probably wonderful. If you are just staying via a trade or just booking then beware it is not all it is hyped. It is a shame really, it has the potential to be a...
