Preface: Do your research.

I stopped for firewood at Sibley on my way in. I stayed at Campsite 2, which has its own little path to the boat ramp. The pit toilets were clean and stocked with TP. The hand sanitizer dispensers didn't work at either pit toilet when I was there, but I keep my own anyway.

I picked this campground specifically because it didn't have a lot of the amenities/facilities that draw families with children. My dog is a little shy of children, and this was her first camping trip. She did great. I used the fire ring w/grate and picnic table. Though I liked site #2, most of the traffic in this park is for the boat ramp, so if you want quieter, another Campsite is probably ly preferable. Not a complaint, just as much info as I can supply. The hiking group trail was a bit overgrown, but would have been fine if I'd had a trekking pole instead of the doggo.

Someone came around with activity books for the kids that were there (I'm guessing this was the campground host, but didn't really chat to confirm that).

Hopefully, this...

Beautiful lake with nice largemouth bass. We camped in site 3, which was big enough to fit our boat on its trailer. Great flat and grassy area for our tent. All sites are fairly private with a nice bit of woods between each one. Sibley SP ranger came by every day and even went out of his way to deliver us a 20 lb. bag of ice! Hosts sell firewood (that they keep in a shed, dry, good wood). Shower (1 in women/1 in men) worked great and bathroom was clean. It’s definitely a small gem of a park for anglers and campers who don’t require all the comforts of home. There is also a short 1-mile trail good for hiking that passes by Monson and Sundberg Lakes. Very pretty. Obviously bring your bug spray. You are in Minnesota, the campsites are wooded, and there is a lake! We just sprayed ourselves down with the bug spray (often) and all was well. We recommend Vicky’s Cafe in Sunberg for breakfast on a rainy...

Me and my girlfriend came here one weekend. We were told they would have firewood we could buy from the park themselves when we arrived. When we did arrive not a worker was in spite, the place where we could have bought the would from was closed and it was only 6pm. We had to drive 25 min into town, search for a place where they sold would (which most places dont) and 25 back to our campsite in monson park. We woke up today and went back to the place in this park where we are supposed to buy wood from. Still, no workers in site and the place is closed. We are VERY disappointed and we are not the type of people to write a bad review or complain at all. Definitely not recommending this camp site to anyone we know. Suggestion; get better staff or maybe just hire staff in general and also, maybe have the hours that you are open so we know when we can buy wood, if at all.) #DONT COME TO...

This is a beautiful small state park right on the lake. The sites seem like a decent size (ours was huge) with plenty of tree coverage. I really enjoyed my stay there but it might not be for everyone. There is flush toilets and a shower but there's no bike trail, playground, or beach for kids. There's only one hiking trail that's a mile long but it was just fine for our dogs. I don't think the office is ever open anymore so if you need firewood or ice you'll have to go to Sibley SP which is about 15 minutes away. If you want a small quiet park without a lot of traffic that really gives you the feeling of camping in the woods then this is the place for you. However if you want a park with lots of amenities then you might want to keep looking elsewhere.

A small quiet state park on a good fishing lake. 20 camping sites with only six electric sites. The sites are large and private, most would handle a larger rig of 30-35'. Two spigots available for filling RV water tanks. Older bathroom with plumbing and shower. No dump station or fire wood on site. Office not staffed, and some areas of the park are starting to look a bit unkempt. Great for an older couple who loves quiet and fishing, but the not the greatest park if you have kids. No swimming beach or playground, but there is a fishing pier and boat launch.

This is a smaller State Park that needs a little TLC. The signage is old, faded, and sometimes missing. There are some nice walking trails, but they don't cover much distance. There are 19 camp sites, 5 or 6 of which are electric. The weekend we were there, there were several empty sites, and it was nice and quiet. We enjoyed two beautiful sunsets there and the site we were in (15E) was great for star gazing. It's a nice place to camp, but doesn't offer much in the way of recreational activities (didn't even see a playground for children).
