A star for its central location for exploring the Franconia Notch area and White Mountains, and a star for how friendly and helpful the owner is... And that's about it. There was trash in our fire ring when we arrived, the campground roads are rutted and full of potholes, the seasonal sites look about ready to be absorbed back into the earth (rundown campers and all), the "playground" is a Walmart special swing set, and the sites weren't maintained at all—we were 9.5" off-level in the front, had to navigate trees and large rocks, and the weeds were more than ankle-high. You get what you pay for ($35/night), but I expect basic cleanliness and a site that doesn't make me want to bust out the weedwacker. A real shame... The location can't be beat and camping among mature trees was lovely.

Owner was helpful, we found a spot ( first come first serve style with reservations a few weeks ago), there were 2 sets of bathrooms and a shower room included with the stay. Very beautiful area, really quiet.

Great spot. Owner is beyond nice and very hospitable. Great, rustic camping spot with a great pond that our dogs had a blast swimming in!

Upon arrival to see if my fiancé and I could rent and RV spot for the winter, as we are in the process of moving, we asked if there was a winter season RV spot available and we were told we were not allowed to stay for more than a week. As apartment prices are high, we only needed a month to save money and get a more permanent home. We figured since this campground had nice reviews and we currently live in Littleton in our own place that it would be feasible monetary wise to stay in a camper to save. I was informed by what I presumed to be the owner that he doesn’t not let anyone “live in his campground” and “this campground is meant for people with snowmobiles who are from Maine” which seemed very odd to me. I do believe I was judged and discriminated against considering how fast we were told this information. I guess if you’re from Maine you are welcome with open arms! And I assume under the pretense’s that he doesn’t know how to treat people with human decency. It’s incredibly sad and a pitiful to cloud judgement on strangers, also bad...

We just returned from our 3rd year of fall camping at Apple Hill, and we already can't wait to go back next fall. Here are some of the things that keep us coming back. The location! We love how close to Bethlehem Center the campground is while still being tucked nicely into the woods and away from noise. This year, we brought bikes, it was an easy 1-mile bike ride into town to have dinner and drinks! The amenities are another reason we chose Apple Hill; the bathhouse is always clean, and the water is super hot. Lastly, the service, Rob, the owner, is great. He always gives us choices when we are picking out a site. He has let us borrow an extension hose, and he keeps his store stocked with huge bundles of firewood and any necessity you could find yourself needing. Each evening, he goes around to each site and collects trash, something we never see at other campgrounds!

Its always a great stay here and we cant...

I have been to many campsites with my family over the years and I have to say this was one of my best experiences ever. The owner of the campground is extremely welcoming and generous, and takes a lot of pride in his business. We had a weird circumstance where we did not show up to check in until 9 pm and he was more than ok with us arriving that late and he even allowed us to drive around the campground to pick out our own site which was awesome because we were able to be as secluded as we liked which also made the entire experience much better. We had a great time staying and will be coming back again. Extremeley great rates as well! Has convenient wood and ice for sale so you have everything you need! Clean and well maintained bathrooms/showers. I would recommend this campground to anyone looking for a great...
