Americas Best Value Inn Bishop Kingsville — Hotel in Bishop

We stayed here a week and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was for the price we paid. Everything has been given a fresh coat of paint and is in top shape. Whoever did the remodel did a very good job. It appears to be run by an Indian family, and there is always the smell of curry in the lobby, but every single member of the family that was at the desk was very friendly and immediately helpful. The room was clean, smelled fresh, air condition worked great, pool was clean and no missing tiles. Breakfast options were not bad: apples and bananas, make your own waffle, white and 'wheat' bread, hot scrambled eggs and potato chunks, cereal and milk, tiny muffins. The only negative things I could say is the wifi was a little tricky to get on (had to login through firefox, since chrome wouldn't work), they were skimpy with the muffins (about 5 tiny muffins available in the tray at any one time) and the towels were a little thin. But...

Very nice clean rooms. Very comfortable beds and large bathroom. It's the old style type hotel with each rooms door is outside.

They clean the rooms every day. They have smart TV's with all cable channels. It looks like they recently began updating rooms as the room i was in had all new furniture and appliances. It's a very quiet hotel with big truck parking.

The hotel staff was very nice when I checked in. I had asked for a first floor room when I booked the room online but when I got there, the nice lady said all the kings were upstairs and she could put me in a 2 queen room on the ground level. I loved the fact she asked me but I told her putting me on the second floor was fine since I was alone and didn't want to take a room that someone else may need.

It was very quiet and nice. You didn't really hear the interstate traffic at all. And I loved the fact that it was only 10 minutes...

The first time we stayed there, our visit was good. Rooms were nice, clean, up to date and cool. We went back 2 more times, beginning of June for my brother's funeral and the room was really hot but I thought maybe it was just that room. We were there again last week and requested our original room and this time there were dead bugs on the floor and the room was hot once again. I set the ac at 60 and it didn't feel cooler than 78. I also put the "do not disturb" sign on my door and the owner entered my room anyway to retrieve towels. When I confronted him about it he was rude and said he wasn't gonna steal from me even if I had a million dollars in there. Never again will we stay there!!! Do not disturb, means DO...
