We have arrived in a charming mountain town, but unfortunately, my experience at this hotel has left a bad aftertaste. While the rooms are adequate, they are showing signs of age, with scratches on the paint and wallpaper. The mini-fridge moves when opened, and the toilet did not function properly. I have yet to use the shower, but I am not hopeful.
My main frustration, however, lies with the staff's attitude. As a late arrival, I often request a late check-out, usually around noon-2pm. While this hotel was willing to grant my request of noon, they also warned me that if I overstayed by even one minute, I would be charged for a full extra day. This seemed unnecessary and left a sour taste in my mouth.
Another peculiar thing was that, while breakfast was still being served, the staff was already eating and chatting loudly amongst themselves. About an hour before breakfast was supposed to end, they began cleaning up and closing the area, giving the impression that the guests' satisfaction was not their priority. The staff seemed dismissive, with an air of superiority, and I felt like an inconvenience.
I paid over $200 for a room that was neither clean nor pleasant-smelling, and the level of service did not justify the cost. The check-in process also had its own set of issues.
The mountain view was the only positive aspect of my stay. Initially, the staff placed me in a room without a balcony, However, I informed them that I had paid for a balcony with a Mountain View, and they only had a room with a patio left. I had even booked the room through their website.
Due to the staff's poor attitude and lack of care for their guests, I cannot recommend this hotel. It's clear that they prioritize their own schedules over their customers' needs, which is not the level of service that I expect for the...
Read moreThe vending machine noise is so terribly high that I was not able to sleep. I have arrived at 12 a.m on 8/10/19 and according to my reservation they gaive me a room. But as I entered the room I could hear the loud Vending machines and the neighbors A/C unite. For 20 minutes I tried to block the noise to be able to sleep but I wasn't able to. I got dressed and step down to reception area. Claudia said there is nothing she can do, all the rooms are occupied. That I have to take it or leave it, that they can chang my room tomorrow and that she will text her manager informing her of the situation. I said I will sleep in my car and they must refund my money back for one night. She said she will state that to her manager Ms. Martinez. 6:00 a.m I came to the hotel to use the facilities and the manager was there and she was well aware of the situation. She agreed that the money should not be changed, but that is not her decision. She must tell the hotel owner. When I came back from the hike they said the room is ready for me and that room was a little better than the other one. No vending machine noise, but adjacent room A/C and all their conversation could be heard from my room. In short this is definitely not a place to rent for $208 per nigh plus taxes. They gaive me 10% discount on the 1st night insted of the full refund for the 1st nigh. I have spoken to some guests outside whom were on the trail hiking and they agreed that this is not the place to stay next time. This hotel must upgrade the walls and place some acoustic insulation to break down the noise. They are charging higher price and taking advantage of the hikers and vacationers from Europe. ...
Read moreOver the years, I've stayed at the Quality Inn Lone Pine a number of times and my most recent stay there has made me think about exploring other lodging options in Lone Pine. ||||The property and rooms are nothing special. Quality Inn is merely a place to bed down for the night when you're on the road. ||||My last stay at Quality Inn came after hiking Mt. Whitney. My wife and I got to our room late in the evening and went to bed hungry (in part because the fast food restaurants of Lone Pine close their doors early). ||||In the morning, my wife and I went to the hotel's complimentary breakfast, which is officially billed as being "hot, fresh and healthy." What we found is coffee, cereal and one solitary waffle machine. You could tell the 12 guests who were playing musical chairs around the waffle machine were thinking, "WTF." ||||A lot of tourists pass through Lone Pine and pit-stop at this hotel. At the complimentary breakfast, I saw Asian and Australian tourists. The Asians actually chose to buy breakfast from the hotel vending machine and the Australian tourist said aloud, "zero stars for me." ||||I travel quite a bit, and I can tell you most hotel chains currently provide many more breakfast food options than a waffle machine. I drank my coffee and waited for my turn at the waffle machine, but in the end I decided I'd rather drive to McDonalds to grab breakfast than fight for the chance tom make my own waffle. ||||The complimentary breakfast at Quality Inn Lone Pine is an epic fail, and overall there's nothing impressive about this hotel to keep them coming back. I submit (backed by the international hotel guests I recently encountered) it be appropriately renamed...
