I really hope I can eventually change this to a 5 star review, but at this point I think this will be the only way to actually get the campground managements attention.
I am a seasonal camper here this year, and I’ve asked very kindly for a few very small things. I simply get a yes, wait 4 weeks, go on a week long vacation with hopes things will be done when I pull back in, and still nothing.
I’ve asked for the campground to spray for aunts since they are really bad, for which they said they would definitely stop over. I had to go out and buy my own aunt killer. I don’t mind doing this, but would rather have the campground management be open about not wanting to do it for me.
I’ve also asked for a few big weeds to be sprayed down on my site, for which they’ve also agreed to help me with. The weeds have only gotten worse overtime. I also had to go out and get my own stuff, running out of it because I’ve had to use so much of it to keep my site somewhat presentable. The grass growing through the stones is pretty bad.
Lastly, I’ve kindly asked for a picnic table stone area for which they’ve done to a lot of other sites so I don’t have to move my picnic table everytime they mow. Again, they said they would do it and it’s been 5 weeks, a call back saying it would be done in the next week (2 different times within the last few weeks), and still nothing.
Ontop of all of this, I’ve flagged down the people on the golfcarts many times, walked into the office a few times, and have asked for updates. All they have said is, it’s on the list. I completely understand the campground can be busy, but as a seasonal, I’d love to be seen as part of this campground just as much as all the other seasonal sites.
I love this campground, the quietness and pretty areas around it, just wish they could stick to their word when asked for something so simple. I hope to be able to change this review in the next day or two once this stuff has...
Read moreGreat park, great people, great times! We've been visiting here since 2010. Our stays are generally short--no more than a week or two. Location is always important, and this park is positioned to provide easy access to the entire region of wine, dunes, recreational activities, dining & you-name-it. The office has a few supplies along with ice, firewood and propane. The shower & restrooms facilities are clean, although a bit dated. The park offers both shade & sun. Water pressure is great & the WiFi is (at times) usable. If I had to pick on one thing, I'd say the bandwidth needs to be doubled or tripled. Cable TV is included and has plenty of channels. As I write this, more areas of the property are being cleared and prepared for additional sites which are sure to be of the same great quality. In summary, these good folks care about the property and the quality of the camping experience they provide. ARRIVAL NOTES: Some GPS units or other mapping tools may take you too far West on US-31, or direct you to turn on Curtis Road. That is not correct. The park entrance/office is at the corner of US-31 & S East...
Read moreWe were in the area for an extended stay (for us) and were in the park for over 6 weeks - past Labor Day. The price seems high for the time of year especially since it didn't include internet. The free wi-fi was useless and for better service you had to pay extra. We just used our phone hotspots, but think wi-fi should be included. The park has a nice setting with a lot to do with a beachfront, some walking trails, etc. Laundry facilities are nice. On a couple of October weekends there were some fun Halloween-related activities. Some of the sites are privately owned and we had a bit of an issue one weekend with late night owners talking too loud, too late (1 am and later) at their nearby campfire. Quiet hours start at 10. But here is the issue - there is no host on duty after the office closes at 5 pm. So there is no one to go to and no one to enforce the rules. A park of this size with many work campers on site should have a host "on-duty" at all times. During office hours, staff was helpful and friendly. We started in site 193 and moved to 203. We would probably...
