Whispering Waters was a l Gr Whispering Waters B & B was a great experience for my husband & me. We came up north to see the wonderful autumn colors the 3rd weekend in October & we wanted to stay somewhere in the woods that would immerse us in nature. This place was just perfect! It is off the beaten path, tucked in the woods by a stream & with trails to walk through the trees. The main house where we stayed was really lovely with a pretty stone fireplace, beautiful furniture (dark leather sofa & big comfy chairs), artistic lamops & accessories and an inviting bookcase with ladder to a loft. It was a visual delight, as well as quite comfortable. Our bedroom & bathroom were very accommodating & we slept well there. It'a a quiet, peaceful, reflective setting & we especially enjoyed reading in serenity! Our host Brian was gracious & welcoming & made us two delicious breakfasts! He gave us some history about the place & suggestions for where to dine in the area. We wished we could have stayed longer to thoroughly enjoy all the amenities... like the sauna, jacuzzi & teepee. We would definitely recommend Whispering Waters for a relaxing, romanric getaway. It was very easy to get to Traverse City from there (about 12 miles) but it felt like we were really far away from the hustle & bustle of daily life. It would be a great spot for two or three couples who want to chill out together, play cards, walk in the woods, & spend quality time in a little bit...

In the end, we could not have chosen a better place to stay. ||||The groundskeeper (I forgot his name, it's been a little while but I promised we would write a review!) has meticulous attention to detail, and actually did a lot of the impressive woodwork in the main house. There is a cozy nook for reading in the main house, a hot tub, a sauna/steam room, a teepee, and a couple of seats by the river with an adjacent fire pit. In other words, there are so many places on the grounds to read a book, drink some wine, listen to the whispering waters of the river and just relax. You can probably find a place with as good of a breakfast (which was delicious) or more spacious bedrooms, but you will NOT find another place with the aura of utter relaxation and escape that this place exudes. We still vividly remember our stay and...
Read moreWhispering Waters is a gem of a B&B. It has rooms in multiple buildings. We were in the main lodge. Rooms were comfortable & clean. The main lodge has a general- use living area with a fireplace and book area. Very comfy. An excellent full breakfast is served in the kitchen in this building. The grounds are wooded and there is a lively stream running through it. It has nice porches and a nice deck area with fire pit beside the river. Has nice perennial gardens. Animal inhabitants (all outside) include at least 2 cats, a horse and an alpaca. Innkeeper is helpful but not hovering. Location is in the woods outside of town, but with easy access to Traverse City, Leelanau Peninsula, Old Mission Pt., Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore, and much else. Fully recommend and will definitely...
