This was our first stay at adventure bound campground in modoc, Indiana. We stayed in our popup camper for memorial day weekend and had such a great time! This is a great place for anyone, especially if you have children...everyone was so nice and all of the other campers were so kind, as it was our first time.camping in our popup and there were many things we didn't know. They had so many activities for the kids this weekend...a scavenger hunt, a foam party... and a dj at the beach, food trucks and the Amish were selling yummy food there as well. We will definitely be back!

I almost canceled our camping trip after I read the reviews last minute but I'm so glad I didn't! We had such a great time. Our 3 boys ages 3, 7, and 13 all played hours on the beach, even us adults enjoyed the inflatable bounce obstacle, the pedal trikes, and paddle boats. The beach was so clean and plenty of clean and comfy beach chairs, all was amazing! We talked with 2 employees Scott who was super friendly and helpful and another gentleman at the life jacket shack who's name we didn't catch but was also very friendly! We will be returning soon

It's a long independence day weekend and they've closed the floating playground at 4pm on Sunday July 3rd. It's 95* outside at a campground and the park refuses to allow anybody to play on inflatables in the water. It would maybe be different if there were fireworks or something else the park was doing to celebrate, but nope - nothing. Absolutely rediculous. Do better adventure bound. Look at all the people who are swimming and the beach 🏖️ was PACKED when it was abruptly closed.

There for a long time, not a good time : Due to work in the area kamp modoc became an almost permanent resident for us for 2 seasons (summer through fall and winter ). At first everything seemed ok management seemed friendly but it became all too apparent that a veil was being pulled over our eyes. For 2 seasons the full time campers (workers) were targets of Marty’s antics. Let me list a few : after winter and she decided to return to the campground she ridiculed us all by yelling on her phone regarding the state of the driveways and yards, stating we (full timers) ripped everything up, ice/snow/no plowing we survived together. -being accused and cornered for breaking her washers when in fact it was not the full timers but easier to blame us. These incidents, she threw clothes out of washers / stole laundry baskets and then eventually putting an out of service sign on the door (however other campers or employees still used it) turning around packages that needed to be delivered / again we unfortunately lived there we had packages delivered all 1st season however Marty decided we weren’t allowed to do that any longer and turned around several full timers packages (what if those were medical supplies ?) they stopped mowing lawns for the full time workers even though in contract that was something they were supposed to be doing including mowing / weed whacking . We were given no explanation / also to be noted items in yards were moved to be out of the way for mowing. -generators / Modoc is right in storm country. There were times we had no choice but to use generators. Several of the full timers were cornered and scolded and told the equipment was not allowed. However this is a pick and choose situation for Marty as she allowed certain people to have generators on.

I know I’m missing other situations but what we encountered and for the cost was outright disrespectful, we were there to work in the community. The entire group was targeted and all have now left in the last 2 weeks, however this isn’t just for the all year workers / seasonal campers who had perm spots are also leaving. If you’re a weekend warrior you’re safe and enjoy. But anyone coming to work in the community STAY AWAY, unless your a single male Marty seems to be ok with them. Staff highlights - Bruce was great , everyone else is so scared of Marty they treated us...

We have enjoyed camping here, and started coming here in 2019. We can bring the golf cart and the dogs and for the most part it is lovely. The staff has always been so kind and helpful, but……this morning I saw something that REALLY angered me. It was a small parade of about 7 golf carts, driving past our campsite (nothing wrong there) and they all lined up in a row by the lake (also no problem). All but 1 of the carts had a big American flag on display (love it, I am a proud American too!) but one of these carts also had a large flag that combined the American flag with the confederate flag AND the entire roof of the cart was covered in a strictly confederate flag. They made no noise or were unruly in any way but even as the wife in a heterosexual Caucasian couple sitting by our campfire, I felt ashamed by my race. Then I felt angry. My husband and I have an adult lesbian daughter and when I saw the confederate flag displayed so prominently I told my husband that I wanted to go out and purchase a large American flag and a large rainbow flag to put on our golf cart. ||||The campground also has an African-American woman working here and I can’t help but wonder if she feels uneasy about this flag being so prominently displayed. Like I said, even as a middle aged white woman I felt uncomfortable but more angry than uncomfortable. However, as an American I agree that we all have the right to display things of which we are proud. But my middle aged white husband, while cooking breakfast, just said, “It’s too bad that one of my favorite campgrounds has been ruined.” To clarify I asked him, was it ruined by what we saw? And he said, “yes”. ||||We camp to relax and enjoy nature and dogs, ours and the pups of other people - we love dogs! We don’t camp to see symbols of hate and white privilege displayed like badges of honor. This is why we, to date, have not put a rainbow flag, or any other flag on our cart. Live and let live, we’re all people. Sadly, for this reason, we...

I wouldn't recommend it! Told my friends that asked about not to go! The owners are very greedy more concerned about money and being in charge than making sure their customers have a good time. The owner will get on women and children but never had the guts to confront a man that I saw! People are there to have a good time the owner seems to be there to be an authority figure and take your money. I should have read the reviews before I went if you notice everyone that had a bad review the owners made it their fault or said they have no record of them staying. We spent ALOT of money with them. We bought from the store and even ate there the first or second night. It was all you can eat taco's for $8.99 a person..it was way overpriced but we did it for convenience that night..the worst taco's I've ever had! It was all store bought but not good especially for that price. They will take your money how ever they can! The bathouse is nice but the water never even got warm and they are water savers which is fine if there's warm water. Coldest shower I've had at a campground. With the price being so high and the activites not included you should'nt have to deal with that stuff! The owner got on me about how much trash I was putting in the dumpster that was full! We stayed 2 weeks he acted like when are you leaving..he asked! He was worried about not putting to much trash in the FULL dumpster before the 4th of July weekend which I can kind of understand but we paid over $500.00 to stay here he was more worried about money coming in and not the people that already paid and were leaving soon. He watched my husband do it but couldn't say anything to him just me the next day. Pretty unprofessional! I think he rides around on his golf cart and sits inside monitoring the windows just to get on someone..a woman or kid! Please take my advice and stay...
