We had high hopes as we drove up to this cabin . So very cute. The air condition was not working when we arrived. And the heat from the baseboard was on and no way to turn it off. We called the emergency number that they specified to call and never heard back from anybody. The problem is that I have asthma issues and I need air-conditioning and the mildew smell and the cabin was very heavy. The next day they still didn’t call us. We went to the office and they sent somebody to check the air conditioner. However, it’s not a real air conditioner and only blows fan, so the end of the hot summer and we have a heat on and no air conditioner. The cabin was very cute and very clean. However, I needed air condition and we had two days without air condition. So if you think you’re going to come in the summer, there is no air conditioning and it’s too uncomfortable and sticky. October 1 update. I ended up in urgent care due to the mold in this cabin. Hundreds of dollars into my Doctor bills and there is nobody to call about what’s going on in this place. Do not stay here. I am telling you there’s nobody to help you if God forbid your air condition doesn’t work. I ended up with asthmatic bronchitis because I couldn’t get anybody to come fix the air conditioner. Please find another place.

We stayed here through an exchange with our timeshare, but we only stayed 2 days out of our week. Unfortunately, this area gets way too hot to not provide AC. The resort tried to advise people to be mindful where they smoke outside, but our neighbors smoked on their balcony in the evenings and we could smell cigarettes as we tried to sleep. The sleeper sofa was filthy, and although it’s not a pet friendly resort, it appeared to be covered in dog hairs. I called and left a voicemail, but no one responded. There was a lot of dust on the light fixtures and on the fans provided. It’s a beautiful area and things were very quiet, but no one was able to get any sleep in the heat and dust.

Stayed first week of October, timeshare swap for my sister-in-law. Beware of the steep driveway you pull into in front of the office. We did not have a direct dealing but the 2 times my SIL dealt with the main office, the older woman was very unfriendly, like it was a big inconvenience to deal with any issue, even just checking in! Remaining staff we encountered were friendly. Parking is pretty bad. We stayed in a 4-unit building and there was barely room for 3 cars plus steep, sharp hairpin turns while maneuvering a culvert to get into the spaces for the building. Because we were 2 couples, each with a car, we parked our car by the “rec building” and walked. Can’t imagine dealing with any of this driveway/parking in the winter.||||Beds were comfortable, extra blankets available but exactly enough towels and face clothes for 4 people. Guess we were supposed to wash them ourselves - oh, and don’t forget to tip housekeeping, very blatant signage. ||||Good sized dining table made up for the lack of kitchen counter space but kitchen was adequately stocked with appliances, dishes, pans and utensils. We did have to set up the coffeemaker on a cooler to have access to a plug and balance the toaster on the edge between the stove and sink - need more counter space and electric outlets, find a better place for the stacked washer and dryer.||||Make sure you leave everything spotless when you leave - clean, dry everything, counters, stove and refrigerator. If not, they will charge you a cleaning fee, which is displayed in multiple places. Made me wonder what housekeeping did to make anyone consider tipping. For the most part, our unit was clean but the floor of the kitchen area needed a good cleaning. My husband’s socks were filthy within a very short time after taking his sneakers off.||||Gas fireplace was nice on cool mornings but the timer was annoying - 60 minutes and off it went and really only felt like 30.||||There weren’t too many amenities with this place but some guests really seemed to enjoy the stocked fishing pond. I’d prefer to stay in a place a little more nicely maintained - everything felt a bit old and worn and this goes beyond the price of a stocked pond. It’s proximity to Blowing Rock, the Blue Ridge Pkwy and all its sights at a fairly reasonable price is probably it’s draw but think we’ll look at a different place next time we come...

I was in a one-bedroom. The office is only open 8-5 Monday through Saturday. Check-in is at 4PM so it doesn't give you much time to deal with any problems with your unit when you check in. I checked in on a Saturday evening. They have easy after hours check-in procedure. However, the kitchen faucet sprayed every time I turned it on - soaking me and the floor. And the place stunk so bad!! The strong moldy, mildewy smell made me concerned for my health. And I couldn't address the problem for two nights!. I opened all the windows and went out and bought a scented candle. The smell subsided in 3-4 days but it never smelled fresh in there. ||||There is no dishwasher so tenants need to wash their dishes. There is a cleaning charge if you don't. However they don't check. I pulled out a frying pan that had green fuzzy mold all around the top edge. The pot had a distinct ring of what looked like dried baked beans. The plates were gritty. I washed what I used and left it out in the dish drainer so I knew what was clean. I brought these problems to the attention of the manager on Monday morning and she just looked at me blankly and although she sent maintenance over to fix the faucet she did not offer to help with the other problems at all. She checked and saw that the place had been empty all season except for a few overnight stays. This is something they should address when someone comes in. If the place has been left empty and has become damp and mildewy then they should freshen it before a person comes for a long stay. I was there for 7 nights and made reservations a month in advance. ||||To make matters worse, the mattress must be old because I woke every morning with back pain. So the last 3 nights I was there, I slept on the couch. What does it say about the mattress if I don't get back pain from the couch but I do from the mattress?!||||The building I was in had two floor units and two second story units. I was in a floor unit (#8). The room was dark and dank. Extremely unpleasant. I will never return...

A beautiful mountainous area with a 5 minute drive to an out look for sunsets and star gazing. Close location to the nearby town of Blowing Rock, which is great for convenience and stuff to do. The village is also about half hour way to grandfather mountain and close to a winery on the way back.

As you can see, I don't totally hate this place but in fact, think it's a great stay with potential to make it better if the owners decide to read this review.

For a summer getaway, i can't recommend staying here. Trying to stay cool in the cabins was a serious issue even while bringing portable air conditioners to accommodate the situation. Even after extra AC units on top of the puny window AC they provided in the leaving room, they absolutely struggled to keep the bedrooms and living room cool. This place would work better in the winter where staying cool isn't a problem.

Water pressure throughout the whole cabin was problematic where you can't take a shower if someone is washing dishes or even washing hands! You would be lucky to take a shower after a long day hiking with family. I decided that the best strategy for water pressure was to take a shower at night where there's less people using the water.

Tv was outdated and didn't even have any signal to watch any channels, so that was completely useless when wanting to chill from being out all day. Other amenities and feel to the cabin were also outdated.

Our beds were kind of uncomfortable and brought some memory foam pads just in case which came in handy.

One huge savior of this place was that good wifi despite having no phone service.

Owner, if you read this, I would ignore the uncomfortable beds, outdated technology and interior for a modern proper HVAC system and better water pressure throughout the cabins.

Wouldn't recommend for summer, maybe for winter. Look...
