You’re camping right ? You must have a sense of adventure. Like all real estate, the only three things that matter are location, location, and location. This location is nearly ideal for those of us traveling, amid natural wonders in the SW Virginia/SE WV area, and ready access to shopping and some interesting eats.. What really tops it (echoing what others have written) are the positive actions and attitudes of Clint and Lana who are busier than one-armed paper hangers, and still manage to smile. Several rows - most of the sites - are pull-through, and out in the open. There is a row of covered sites, one of which we took for our two nights there, backing in with ease. Plenty wide enough to set up the trailer, and unhook and park on the other side. The cover was extended down the back and one side, providing an excellent wind break. This is a multi-purpose industrial area, with some concrete and mostly gravel surface. They have done a clever job of laying spots of astroturf approximately where the door to your camper would be when you park. Good things bear repeating, and yes, the bathrooms are spotless - no hand towels because apparently a few bad actors spoil it for the rest putting towels down the toilets and blocking them. Plenty of hot water. There are three separate bathrooms, similar to a residence, each with toilet, sink, shower, a chair, a small table, and plenty of room. There are shower caddies, no toiletries provided other than hand soap at the sink. There is a laundry room at the end of the hall on which the washrooms are located. For finding the place, there is a billboard sized sign right by the road at the entrance way. They are so busy, there will likely be no one there to greet you immediately, and there is a large lettered notice on the door to call or text. They have three serious speed bumps on the entrance road - suggestion for the wise - take it easy in there. In short, this is a most excellent base from which to visit the area, limited only by your imagination. Highly recommend the Appalachian RV spot, and combined with local area, should earn it a spot on your...
Read moreCarol Acord, even though you are entitled to your opinion. I have to share my opinion to your thoughts. My family and I stay at this resort for 6 months this year, and I have to disagree with you. The dog you are referring to, His name is Zeus, and he is one of the nicest dogs I have been around. He would come see me just about every day when I would get off work. Which was very nice considering our dog had passed away a year before we got there. I couldn't tell you how many people that I seen while being there had loved on Zeus every time he would come around. He is a very loveable animal, and I never seen any aggression from him at all. Most dogs that people brought to the park he would stay away from them, and if he approached, he just wanted attention from the dogs owner. The owners are very good people, and if you had addressed your concerns, I know for a fact they would take care of it. We would still be there if the job hadn't been put on hold, but when it starts back up, we will be staying at this park. I wanted to share my experience and let you know that your comment was not accurate. You seem like someone who likes to cause issues by your comment. If your dog is that aggressive, you need to get him some training because there is a lot of kids in these parks, and if your dog attacks a kid that wouldn't be good...
Read moreWe made our first trip to HMT the summer of 2020 and got hooked right away. Spring of 2021 we decided to find a campground to keep our camper so we could came ride as much as we wanted. I found Appalachian RV Resorts, that had just recently opened, and move our camper in. We have one of their yearly lots and the location and setting is perfect for us. The owners have been nothing but nice, respectful, fair, & understanding to me, my family, & friends. I've even received random texts from the owners checking in on us when we haven't had time to come stay in a while. This is a pet friendly campground and the owners have a very friendly non aggressive dog that has free roam. He loves to visit the campsites to get a little attention from the guests. So if you do travel with pets and have any that are aggressive I would not bring them here. Taking any aggressive pet to any public place is very irresponsible to begin with. The owners also love to ride so if you are coming to ride HMT they may take you out on a personal tour to see cool things you would not find on your own. This place is our home away from home and would...
