Apologies ahead for the long post, as it is hard to minimize the appreciation I have for Carol and Clarence and the treasured experience they created for my family last weekend when hosting my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. Carol helped me plan a perfect family dinner, the only time I've ever planned anything without stress, all because of her kind graciousness. I was already anticipating the night, but when my friend and I arrived early to decorate, we were so excited at how perfect every last detail was. Carol's food smelled amazing and she and Clarence had everything set up so special! Everyone arrived and enjoyed THE most DELICIOUS meal from THE most kind and humble hosts, all in a beautiful home crafted by Clarence's own hands, with interesting and lovely details at every turn. We had a wonderful time together, then my parents stayed on to enjoy the rest of the weekend, which they said was absolutely amazing! They went on and on about everything, said they never even left the house, didn't want to, ha! What stands out most about this sweet couple is the joy they exude in serving others. I wish more people understood the blessings they could create in having this kind nature. We all plan to go back this summer and enjoy their amazing outdoors, as well. Where to begin with this little gem of a place!! The hospitality and kindness from the owners is probably the best I've experienced in all of my travels. The food was absolutely amazing and everything was handmade and custom ordered. They refuse to let you lift a finger in any way and will even bring you blankets and refills on your coffee while you sit on the back deck looking at the beautiful views and the wildlife. There are so many things to do such as games (both indoor and outdoor), points of interest around the area to explore, kayaks / canoes to rent that are delivered to you to the dock, a thermo spa that is amazing to sit in and look at the stars at night, and even little touches like a guitar to take to the fire pit and yoga mats to exercise in the morning. They have truly done an impeccable job at thinking of the little things to make everyone comfortable and enjoy their time. Our family is so excited to have found this amazing little country getaway! We've stayed here twice now; once as a couple and then with our two kids. Both visits have been absolutely stellar.
Carol and Clarence give 5-Star service and made the whole experience magical. Everything is hospital-clean and it's a warm and cozy feel but with modern amenities.
Free hi-speed wifi, large flatscreen TV with Netflix, Dish and Prime Video, televisions in each room with private bathrooms and plush, comfortable beds with plenty of pillows and blankets.
Outside is an enormous, beautiful lake surrounded by trees (we saw deer this time). There's a pool we haven't used yet (winter months) but the jacuzzi is amazing. They provide everything you need and Clarence did a great job explaining how it worked.
And the breakfasts Carol made for us are absolutely too die for. She's an incredible cook and the generous portions are delectable, better than any restaurant meal I've ever had.
We really couldn't ask for anything more and we'll be regulars...
