Namaste Key West Healing + Retreat Center — Hotel in Boca Chica Key

I really wanted to enjoy this experience but looking back on it, it still bothers me. Overall experience was ok. I was pretty disappointed as me and my friends paid $900 for a sound healing and paddle boarding experience but we’re told we couldn’t go paddleboarding because of potential toxins in the water despite the weather being nice. The potential toxins were actually never mentioned to me in our several calls leading up to this day. We also saw other paddle boarders out this day in the area. When we discussed a backup on the phone we talked about using the spa in case of bad weather. I thought we’d do the spa services as discussed but she said it wasn’t available. I feel like in the end we overpaid for what ended up as a some tarot card pulling and a sound healing. I’m a healer myself and was pretty underwhelmed considering the price. The sound healing was good and the owner is nice but after several months I’m still feeling really dissatisfied by the whole experience and quite taken advantage of price wise. I thought it was just me but my friends also shared the same sentiment. I also felt like there was a lot of talking throughout the experience so I found it hard to relax. We were all actually feeling overstimulated up until the actual sound healing portion. Again, the owner is really nice but in the end, it’s something I look back on and don’t have a good memory of. Unfortunately, I would not recommend the paddle boarding/sound healing experience although we never actually got to go paddleboarding. I do feel this review would have never happened had the owner offered a partial refund as the sound healing itself was good but I am writing this just so moving forward, she can consider these things for...

I had no idea what to expect when I agreed to join a friend for a “Sound Healing” session at Namaste Key West. I’d been having an unusually stressful month and felt enveloped by a sense of peace and calm the second I entered the room.

First you’re aware of lovely scents—lavender?—and then you notice the immaculate studio filled with comfortable, clean pillows and blankets. I was especially excited to learn that there was no exercise involved at all. Everyone lies down in a comfortable position and closes their eyes as dreamy chanting music plays faintly in the background.

Then the instructor/guide reads short statements that everyone, it turned out, thought were chosen to reflect their personal current situation or struggle (it was uncanny).

She starts playing the chimes as you drift into a most restful and uplifting place, only to be topped by a tuning fork whose vibrations are applied to the soles of your feet and your head.

I would say more but I think everybody should come with an open mind —even if you’re the kind of person who would normally roll your eyes at these kinds of experiences—-in fact, ESPECIALLY if you are.

I plan to return on a regular basis because I view it as much more enjoyable, helpful and less expensive...

What a wonderful place to get grounded, find yourself, redefine yourself and let go of negative thoughts and beliefs…….. Shanda sweetly and gently guides one to see and accept the actual TRUTH. Healing the heart and mind through sound baths, tuning forks and nature experiences are a much more effective means of dealing with life’s hardships than prescription antidepressants/drugs and or alcohol……..Shanda has helped guide me to a place of seeing the worst hurts as a turning point for my future path!!!
