This was our first time here at this campground. We were fortunate to spend Tuesday night thru Saturday here, where it was pretty peaceful until the crowd showed up on Thursday night. Thankfully, the large groups near us were very respectful during the night. When we arrived, there was trash everywhere and the bathrooms had trash in them (very smelly). While not necessarily my responsibility, I love nature and always leave places better then when I found them. I gave each of my kids (minus the baby) a grocery bag and we started feom the top of the campground and worked our way to the bottom, picking up even the smallest bits of trash we could find. I want to make sure my kids learn and understand the importance of keeping our wildlife grounds clean. We picked up quite a bit of trash in about 45 minutes. While there, the bathrooms got cleaned out as well, so it was much more pleasant, although still smelly as you could imagine. We enjoyed fishing, although the fish weren't really biting the whole week for the most part. There are bass, trout and suckers in the river. The family swim time was the best. Bring goggles... I found lots of lost treasures (fishing lures) stuck on rocks that I recovered, as qwll as cleaning up old fishing line and misc. trash off the bottom of the river. The water is crystal clear and it's fun to swim across to the other side or float a little bit down river and do it all again. The kids had a blast. We brought our mountain bikes and did a couple short rides with our kiddos on the main road. Bring lots of mosquito repellent with deet. We had that and citronella candles and were fine for the most part. If you venture down by the river away from the campground like we did on our bikes, you'll be sorry, as there was no amount of repellent to keep the blood thirsty mosquitos from raising a fast flying army against us... literally! We rode as fast as our youngest bike riding child could go, which wasn't fast enough to escape the savages from practicing their acupuncture techniques on us all. In general, we did love getting outdoors and swimming in that beautiful, perfect part of the river.

We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed ourselves. Pump for water was locked. Bathrooms were filthy no toilet paper. Overall had a great space to set up camp. No bugs, lots of butterflies no other wildlife other that Squirrels, chipmunks, lots and lots of birds. Road to the camp is horrendous 😫 and the other way was better but not for the faint of heart with height fear like me. Very very beautiful.

We love camping here, great river access, good spots to camp. This was our first time coming in July, definitely don’t recommend during this time, the mosquitos were relentless from 8pm-10:30pm ish and 7:30 Am-10:30am it didn’t matter if you sprayed. But usually we have no issues here and it’s a spot we come to often.

Oh where to begin...the pros: great fishing, just know what you can keep and what to release. Campground is right on the river and has a calm spot for kids to play in. There's 9 sites and you can park right on your site with SOME over flow parking. Plenty of shade and 2 bathrooms! Awesome fire pit, sturdy picnic tables and probably great wildlife! Unfortunately our second night, a group of about 20+ people (adults and children) showed up, at 11 pm. Im not exagerating. Took up the entire beach area with all of their tents and their trash. They also blasted their meriachi techno music the entire time, all night all morning, also not exaggerating. Trash was literally all over the beach and they added to the trash that was already all over the campground. Strobe lights, 3 or 4 of those giant construction lights, projector lights going all over the mountains and in the other camp sites. We had asked them to turn it down but I dont think they understood English. They spoke it well enough when they asked us to borrow stuff. They also were so kind as to dump the trash bags of shit (literal shit) into the toilets. Bags and all, which then stunk up the bathrooms even more. Saturday night, 6 more cars of the same group came and took up the rest of the site and whatever was left of the beach. They decided they wanted to blast their music too! Luckily we had a path behind our site (#9) that took us to another beach, about 3 minutes walk. All in all, ill probably never come back unless its regulated by a host because that was the most disrespectful thing I've ever seen. If you cant respect our forests and the people who go out to actually enjoy nature, then go the hell home! My 11 and 8 year old even recognized how awful they were and wanted to leave. Gave it 2 stars 1 for the river and views, 1 for the fishing. Ps.. the misqitos were relentless, we all went home looking like we had chicken pox. Nothing stopped them. Pps..the women's bathroom...

1 star for the fishing....Mosquitos were relentless regarding of how much or what type of bug spray was used. Campground littered with trash. And being a 'no fee' campground-there are no hosts! Which means rules do not apply. We stayed last Thur night thru Sunday morning. Thursday night was fine minus the mosquitos-boys sat in the car for a few hours to get a break from them. Friday night at 11:00pm about 30 people showed up (did not know how to park) and took over a section of the place-then the music started...then the games...did not stop until 3-4am....6am rooster calling and the music started all up again.....Saturday night-another group of 'people' show up around 8pm-this time more than 30 and it was a competition of who could play their Mariachi band louder-music all night long-neither group cared about campers-multiple other groups that were their actually packed up and left. Def needs to be some rules and regulations put in place-we love camping and love our forests-and these 'people' did not give a crap about anything but themselves....trash everywhere, putting large garbage bags into the toilets, blocking other peoples cars....WE WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS...
