My fiancée and I recently got married and booked our honeymoon stay at Lovers Key Resort. When we arrived it seemed deserted. There was very little parking and not a person in sight. No one was in the lobby to check us in because they were already closed for the day. After calling a phone # that was on the front desk we finally found out how to get to our room. Our entire floor was under construction which we were unaware of. The keypad to get into the room was not easy to use. The passcode was several digits long and did not have normal card entry. We walked into our room to find that the AC unit was leaking and a note saying it would be fixed that next day with a bucket on the floor. During our walkthrough we found hair, sand, and toenails on the floor. At the bottom of the bathroom shower there was what seemed to be black mold. We were absolutely disgusted and got connected to the property manager named Tonya Reed. She showed no empathy of any kind and stated that she had just been in the room and everything was fine as if we were lying. We told her about how we were upset over the floor being under construction and she told us that it was our fault for not checking the website when it wasn’t on the website at all. She also tried to say that we wouldn’t allow cleaning services into the room but we hadn’t even arrived yet. We told her that we wanted a refund and would be leaving to find somewhere else to stay. She laughed and said that she would request a refund but it probably won’t be approved. Tonya Reed has shown that she does not care about the customers and should not be in a customer facing role. We did not deserve to be treated this way on the first night of our honeymoon. Our day was ruined because of this whole experience and I would not recommend staying here ever! We decided to stay at Margaritaville instead where we are actually treated like human beings.

Amazing hotel with great location great views, full kitchen in the rooms and the decor is great , the front desk ladies ware great but the best one Adrienne what an amazing top notch service. Only one big spoiler for my amazing weekend was one of the worst beds i ever slept on. Seems the bed which we had the king one had way better days , as a person with really bad back i chose my hotel carefully and with as much as everything else was amazing after a night of sleep on the bed i woke up 4 times in middle of the night with hugh pain in my back and so my wife. The 2nd night i couldn't take it no more so i actually went to sleep on the couch which didn't help me much with completely enjoying my vacation. I am far from being spoiled and didn't expect for no foam bed but hands down i slept in hotel with $79 a night with way better beds. As much as by far the over all room and view and staff was A+ it will be impossible for me to go back as the pains i was enduring cut my trip short and had to take lots of pain killers to tolerate the run down bed. Hope the ownership will do something about it as the rooms are not cheap and the potential is amazing. Over all i love the place but until the beds will not change i can't see myself back.

Pros: Beautiful resort. Very friendly staff. Free wifi. Enjoyed my stay. Great rooms. Loved having a kitchen area. The restaurant flippers was great. Best eggs benedict I've had in a long time. This Is a random, but the vending machines on the ground level had some of the cheapest items I've ever purchased from a vending machine which was quite refreshing to be honest. Cons: My room phone didn't work. Had to call the front desk with my cell phone every time. 4 of the 6 lights over the table in the living room were out. One lamp in the bed room didn't work. Tried taking a bath but the water wouldn't get hot. Had to call for a maintenance worker to try and fix it. Overall, it's a beautiful place to stay for sure. I'm sure in most of the rooms everything probably works just fine. I seem to have the worst luck in history, and got a room that needed a lot of things that needed fixing. I would still recommend this place despite my room needing a lot of love and attention. I'm guessing the other rooms probably just fine.

We stayed here for 11 nights mid to end of March 2024. We already were prepared for construction to be ongoing and that really didn't bother us. Where we were disappointed is the following:|Upon check-in at 445 pm, the desk clerk told us that we had to place the balance of the reservation on the same card we put our deposit because she didn't know how to put it on another card. I had not been informed that was policy and it was only by luck that I brought that particular card with us. However, I have to wonder since it was so close to 500 pm ( they leave at 5) was it just too time consuming for her to put the remaining transaction on another card because she was getting ready to leave.|Second, we were told that we would only have housekeeping every fifth day. No big deal, but I will get to that in a minute. Lastly, that day, we went to Flippers (only food available within walking distance) only to find out that we could have to call to get on the wait list, come back an hour later and then wait until they have a table. We were looking at 2-3 hour wait. Since we had been travelling all day we decided to just go to Publix, do our grocery shopping and cook our dinner. We did eventually get to eat at Flippers and the food was outstanding.|There was no activities available like table pool or table tennis, etc. just the pool and the spa. The spa was closed the entire time we were there. That was a little disappointing. Fun to see dolphins daily.|Rooms:|Pillows were half the size of standard pillows so the pillow cases were too big and for us, uncomfortable. No fitted sheets, just two flat sheets and a undersized blanket. Carpet was frayed , side of refrigerator was covered in what I can only assume was murky mud from the hurricane that got imbedded. We made due and didn't complain, understanding the process of attempting to come back from Ian. However, over the course of our 11 days, not once did we have any housekeeping, not even one time. I had to go down to the desk to get bath towels, new sheets etc. that were pre- bagged in a large plastic bag. Didn't complain.|The last thing was we came back from a day trip to Sanibel /Captiva and the room was extremely hot. We had turned the air conditioner to 70 before we left in the morning. We called the front the desk and I was almost berated because again, it was close to 5 pm and I should have let them know sooner. I explained that I couldn't have known sooner because I wasn't there all day. Anyway, long story short, their maintenance came up, look at the vent and said, I can't fix this and it isn't our fault. Don't know what that meant but they did call an air conditioner repair man who, when all was said and done told us that it was the filthiest vent he had ever seen. He had to get to the roof to try and get it operational, so I had to find the maintenance guy to get him roof access. Air conditioner guy did get it fixed but then asked us for payment. Explained we were weren't owners. He was kind enough to say he would figure it out. But there was no one to talk to . Not once did anyone from the resort check back with us . That we considered poor customer service. Also, all the construction people took patron parking spots, which were limited anyway because of the construction. That was frustrating. All in all, if there was more to do at the resort, it might have been worth it, but there wasn't so it wasn't. Maybe once they are back in full force it will...

I planned a trip to Ft Myers for me and my boyfriend and picked this hotel at random by name online (Lover's Key...come on..what's not to love?). We did not book a room beforehand because we wanted to see what we were getting first. When we pulled up I thought for sure it would be outragously priced and we'd be turning around to find another place. I can't stress enough at how happy I was to see the rooms (we checked out two before deciding.) They had a great room on the 11th floor available. It was big and comfortable. A full kitchen with basically everything we needed. Fridge, dishwasher, stove, silverware, dishes, ect.. a living room area with a couch, table and flat screen Tv. Even a breakfast nook with bar stools to sit at. The bed was decent. Not like what you'd get at a newer 5 star hotel but it was big and comfortable and also another flat screen tv.. They had AC and two ceiling fans in the room. The barhroom was HUGE! Seperate jacuzzi style tub(although not an actual jacuzzi with jets) it was triangular shaped for one or two people to take a relaxing soak in. Seperate shower and seperate private toliet. Double sinks with plenty mirror and counter space for more than one person to get ready. The only thing was it had no return fan for the steam but that never ended up being a problem since the bathroom was big enough to not get steamy. Our room also had a great view of the ocean...a nice deck with a table and chairs. It was clean and i think a housekeeper came twice a day. Free pool towels, complimentary breakfast each morning before 11am. Free parking. The restaurant (Flippers) was also nice. Ate there the first night..good food and cocktails. The whole staff was friendly and helpful. Nice soothing live island music (steel drums) playing while u eat on the water. Front desk people were curtious and helpful with anything we needed. Pool was very nice. Never overcrowded...nice waterfall center. There is no beach right out your door but if you drive (or walk) down a bit and across the way there is a small public beach. If you are lookin to party in a "spring break" type way this is probably not the place for you. It is located all the way down past the strip and over a bridge in a quieter area which was perfect for anyone wanting a relaxed, quiet setting.. If you want to get to the action and restaurants, gift shops, ft myers beach, the pier you will have to drive or take a cab. Also..the name of the hotel is a unintendedly decietful as i assumed we'd find many "couples only" groups of people. We saw families with chlidren or what looked like groups of couples vacationing with their kids(not that it was a big deal but just unexpected.) Our room came to around $179. A night and i have to say it was worth more than that in value especially compared to what other places were charging. Originally we planned to stay in Ft Myers for a few days and then travel south of the state, maybe down to the Keys. We loved our hotel so much we decided to stay here our whole trip. I highly...

I've been to Lover's Key Resort many times before with my family. This time I drove over with my fiancee to get away from our noisy, busy lifestyle. Looks like we were dead wrong. We got there on a Wednesday afternoon and it was great, but by time night came it became apparent how poor the room was kept. Not only that, but we were woken up by kids who snuck into the pool at midnight and were drinking beer and being extremely loud. I went to call the front desk and low and behold, the line was busy and nobody could answer. The next day we started our day off at the pool (Which was supposed to have a limit of 10 people) with social distancing guidelines in place. Turns out THAT was a lie, there were far more people that just kept coming into the pool and nobody turned them away. I understand its a resort and they have to try and accommodate everybody, but seriously the first few parties that are in the pool area should be able to stay, and later parties denied access. My fiancee left the pool and went to dinner, when we came back later that night, we couldn't sit on the patio because of "grown adults" screaming "CANNON BALL" along with children screaming at the top of their lungs. This was a Thursday night, and again we came to Lover's key for a relaxing getaway. The only time we were relaxed was when we were OFF property. When there are drunk adults acting like children and kids screaming, at what should be an adult's getaway, it takes away from the allure of a vacation. My fiancee and I are extremely disappointed in how things were handled (or should I say NOT handled), basically NO customer service, NO ROOM MAINTENANCE, and just straight trashy people because the prices were so cheap. It was absolutely disgusting and heartbreaking after staying there so many times before. THE BEST PART OF OUR TRIP was eating at FLIPPERS ON THE BAY. The food never ever disappoints, and we had a great time just eating and watching the dolphins in the bay. After that, I can't truly say one good thing about the resort. What I will say is that it was not my first time there, but it is definitely our last. DISGUSTED. UPSET....
