Our family has always turned to this hotel when visiting Bowling Green or nearby areas, but recent experiences have been disappointing enough for us to reconsider our choice.
Concerns:
Cleanliness: While I appreciate that pets are allowed, a thorough cleaning is essential, especially for rooms that have housed pets. Over the past two weekends, we encountered rooms with pee stains on the carpet, dog hair on the furniture, and sticky floors. On our last stay, I even had to request housekeeping to re-mop the floor because my shoes were sticking to it. I don’t own a dog, so I may not fully grasp the challenge of removing dog hair, but I expect a clean room without dog hair all over my clothes and suitcase.
Room Comfort: The rooms used to be a comfortable retreat, but now they often smell like wet dog and feel unclean, making it unpleasant to spend time in them.
Breakfast Service: The quality of breakfast has also declined. During our last stay, my omelet filling was cold and undercooked. Even though we arrived at 9:45 am, the food should still be prepared correctly. Rushing through orders compromises the experience.
Positives:
Happy Hour: Despite these issues, we always enjoy the Happy Hour. The bartenders, especially (possibly Gina?), provides excellent service with a smile. They remember our orders and create a welcoming atmosphere. They truly deserve a raise for their outstanding attitudes and service.
Front Desk Staff: The front desk staff is also commendable. Despite the busy check-in and check-out times, they manage to address every guest with patience and professionalism. Kudos to the front desk supervisor for leading such an excellent team, especially the 10-7 person who handles a lot of craziness.
While there are aspects of our stay that we still enjoy, the declining standards in cleanliness and breakfast service have made us reconsider staying here in the future. I hope management addresses these issues to restore the hotel to its former glory.
Exceptional Dining Experience at Tony’s Steak House: Words cannot express the incredible experience my family and I had at Tony’s Steak House. The food was absolutely delicious, and even when we encountered one meal that didn’t meet our expectations, the manager promptly addressed the issue.
Although we have stayed here numerous times, this was our first time dining at the restaurant, and it certainly won’t be our last. From now on, we will make it a point to eat here every time we visit. The service and food quality have set a new standard for our dining experiences. Highly...
Read moreMy family and I stayed here June 17-18 for a family reunion. We were very impressed with the hotel, spacious lobby, well appointed breakfast area and the beautiful grounds. The Embassy Suites Hotel is beautiful, new and spacious. However like a lot of businesses, it is understaffed. Our room was dirty from visible crumbs and dirt on the floor to hairs and dirt on the bed sheets. I have heard of housekeepers being so rushed that they just remake the beds with the dirty sheets but never believed it until now. I asked for clean sheets and replaced the linens myself. We also went to take showers and there was no shampoo, conditioner or shower gel in the containers in the shower as well as not enough towels. This was disappointing for a room we paid 279$ for one night. On Sunday we began to checkout when my daughter suddenly got extremely ill. We explained the situation and asked for a late checkout and were denied until I insisted. We ended up having to call an ambulance to transport her to the hospital and I asked for our room to be cleaned while we were away. After a 10 hour ER stay, we came back to the room and it was still filthy. So once again I had to ask for clean towels and sheets to remake the bed so my daughter could be comfortable. It took over an hour for them to be delivered to the room. We also had to wear our shoes in the room as the floors were so filthy. And to top it all off they ended up charging me for a third night that we did not use. When I called to dispute the charge, the front desk employee rudely argued with me about when I checked out. As we caught flights on Monday out of Louisville, I could not understand her reluctance to believe me. The charge finally got reversed, but I should not have had to go through that. Yes, it's a new hotel but it is definitely understaffed and the staff that does exist is unqualified to run such a large hotel. I would stay anywhere...
Read moreThis hotel still has that “new car” smell, and I absolutely love it! From the beautifully landscaped grounds to the sleek and thoughtful decor, everything feels fresh and well-designed.
As someone who appreciates the little things, I was particularly impressed by the 96-inch-tall doors. They’re heavy, sturdy, and clearly high-quality—perfect for handling the wear and tear of high guest volume while seamlessly blending into the hotel’s black, gray, and high-glam Art Deco theme. These details elevate the space without making it feel sterile.
I was blown away by the continental breakfast. It’s not your typical free breakfast of cereal, fruit, and yogurt. Instead, Embassy Suites offers: • Plated hot orders • Made-to-order omelets • Pancakes, breakfast meats, and more Honestly, it was better than most resort and 5-star hotel breakfasts I’ve had (and those weren’t even complimentary!). Truly astounding and a major highlight of our stay.
• Dog-Friendly Spaces: The dedicated dog area was fantastic! The provided canister and baggies were much appreciated (though I always bring my own). It’s great to see hotels accommodate pets thoughtfully. Fellow dog owners, please remember to clean up after your pups—let’s keep spaces like this enjoyable for everyone!
• The gym was also well laid out and equipped. Pool looked decent but didn’t utilize it.
• Room Hooks: My one nitpick—where are the hooks in the rooms? There’s plenty of wall space, and hooks would be great for organizing coats, leashes, and other items. I prefer a more streamlined, organized setup rather than tossing things on a table.
A huge thank you to the staff, especially Jennifer, for your kindness and professionalism during a minor check-out hiccup. Your attentiveness made our short stay in Kentucky truly memorable.
