My husband and I spent three nights at Lost Woods Farm in the geodesic dome. We had the BEST time!!! The dome is such a unique and fun experience; we felt like we were camping, but not really - it is the essence of GLAMPING. We slept on a king size bed in an air conditioned dome with running water, a bathroom (including a toilet and a beautiful, large shower) and a stocked kitchenette. It was really incredible. We walked the trails and went to check out the other sites on the 160-acre property, and met the chickens and the barn cats along the way. Lauren, the owner/hostess brought us fresh, hot, homemade bagels in the morning (with cream cheese, I might add)! We spent a long time chatting with her and hearing the story of what led her (and her husband and two kids) up to Boyne Falls on this awesome adventure/endeavor. Lauren was always reachable and accommodating. She made sure to stock the fire pit with firewood and fire starter (and had the option to purchase s’more kits with all of the fixins, if we wanted). She truly has thought of everything and there were so many personal touches that made us feel at home. Lauren even stocked the mini fridge in the dome with eggs from the chickens on the farm and popcorn for the air popper (along with popcorn seasoning) next to a little chalkboard sign that said “Welcome Tracy” - it was so cute and welcoming! We feel so lucky to have this small, family owned, well cared for glamping option here in Northern Michigan. It is also conveniently located within 15-40 mins of most well-known small Northern Michigan towns (Boyne City, Walloon Lake, Petoskey, Bay Harbor, Harbor Springs, Charlevoix) and we hit every one of them. It was a perfect location and a perfect get-away for us, coming from the Metro Detroit area. I highly recommend spending a night (or two, or three) at Lost Woods Farms with Lauren and family! Thanks for a great three days, Lauren!...
Read moreI had an amazing stay at the Stargazer Geo Dome in Boyne Falls, Michigan the weekend of December 22nd! This place is perfect for stargazing— the clear, open skies made it feel like I was sleeping under a blanket of stars. The views from the dome are absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset.
The amenities were top-notch. The heated bathroom floor was a real treat, especially during the cooler mornings! The kitchen setup, with a toaster oven, mini fridge, coffee maker, and hot plate, had everything I needed to cook simple meals. Plus, the fresh homemade bagels and farm-fresh eggs provided were a delightful touch— such a great way to start the day.
The bed was incredibly comfy, making it easy to relax and unwind after a day of exploring the beautiful surroundings. Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat or a base for outdoor adventures, this dome offers a cozy, well-equipped getaway. I highly recommend it and can’t...
Read moreWe stayed in the mini A-frame at Lost Woods Farm in October 2022. It was an amazing experience, and we look forward to visiting again. The property is very cool, from the topography to the landscape-lit trails to the four unique glampsites. Lauren gave us an arrival tour, including instructions for using the A-frame. The work that Lauren and Jason have put into their dream - like the eco-bathroom/shower at the top of a hill - is mind blowing. The homemade bagels and coffee in the morning were the cherry on top of a fantastic stay. We were so enamored that we didn’t want to leave, so we explored the other glampsites after checkout and hiked the property. Then we ran into Jason as we were leaving, who gave us a tour of the barn (available for event rental).
Highly recommend,...
