First time Glamping, unsure, uneasy, way over packed... this retreat has everything, clean, rustic and sooo thoughtful. Everything was well thought out and laid out in a very cozy environment. We stayed 5 days and 4 nights and only left once for breakfast. The rest of the time we spent relaxing together under the stars. The outdoor shower was absolutely killer. Plenty of hot water and privacy. The wife and I are already planing our next vacation. ABSOLUTELY 💯% AMAZING! worth every penny. Literally you only need the desire to get away, book with Airydale and go. There's a well stocked local little grocery store not 3 miles from the retreat for supplies and presto insta vacation. Honestly the most difficult part about this whole experience was leaving. We are already planning our next stay and are going to go back in the fall or possibly the winter. We stayed at towhee 2 and it was an amazing experience. You will NOT be disappointed!!! BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT. No foraging for firewood as it's plentiful and reasonably priced for an armload. I mean this place has everything you could possibly need, bring your main squeeze and get relaxing. Period. No fuss, no worries, no problems. My advice, if you need to reconnect with your loved one. Give this magical place a chance. You won't be...
Read moreAirydale Retreat is a wonderful glamping site! Dome 2 is a spacious charming geodesic dome for relaxing and recharging while on a hiking vacation. We loved the well-appointed kitchen, complete with real glassware, plates, and silverware as well as nice pots and pans, a small refrigerator, and 2 ceramic cooktop burners. We used it to prepare breakfast and lunches. And there was a little table with 2 chairs for planning our day or having a snack. The bathroom was large and had a lovely walk-in shower. We were thankful for the AC which worked very well and cooled us off after our long hikes.
Everything was so clean and comfortable. The bed was comfy with very nice bedding and a rug underfoot. There was a night stand on either side and a great charging station with connectors for all kinds of devices! The lighting was lovely and understated. The little fairy lights lining the dome added a sweet ambience.
We loved the private firepit and 7 Adirondack chairs outside the dome. The string lights surrounding our glampsite made this place even more magical when outdoors.
The Zook family did everything they could to make our stay a pleasant one. They greeted us upon arrival and brought us treats. Looking forward to returning there...
Read moreI booked Airydale Retreat for a unique, “glamping” experience with my husband to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. We booked Dome 2. Let me just say- this was one of the best trips I’ve ever booked for us. It was cozy, relaxing and overall perfect. There was plenty to do at Airydale and plenty to do in the area. We were very satisfied with our stay and will definitely return!
Benefits of staying at Airydale: beautiful and clean accommodations, easily accessible bonfire supplies, very helpful and friendly staff, the complimentary whoopie pies and many more things!
Recommendations for the area: Go hiking at Stone Hawk Mountain Watch, get sandwiches at Good ole Cheesehouse (bring cash), grab coffee/lunch at Standing Stone Cafe, eat dinner at Three Twelve Kitchen and Cocktails. There are also plenty of wineries and breweries around. We went to ReKlaimed Vines Winery and they had a nice selection of wines. Great if you like sweeter wines!! We also went to Juniata Brewing Company and had a flight there. They have a nice selection of beers and also some cocktails and wine available.
As I stated above, we had a wonderful time and can’t wait to return! Thank you...
