This place has a lot of potential. POSITIVE: 1. Bathrooms are clean, newly remodeled and nicely decorated. (Should have replaced shower heads though) 2 Location is right near the entrance to Capulin Volcano National Monument 3. Grounds have sitting areas, darts, hammocks, firepit. Level gravel wide pull though spots. NEGATIVE: 1. Customer service! Unfriendly, confused lady in office that makes you not feel welcomed 2. Laundry room was closed for repair. Machines are old and just need to be replaced. 3. Wifi was really poor and pretty much unusable. 4. Reservation process. It is hard to get a hold of them on the phone to make reservations. They do not send any type of confirmation, and when we arrived she told us our reservation was for the day before (which was impossible since I called at 3:00 the day before and we talked about arrival time of 1:00 tomorrow). We stayed 1 night in our travel trailer as we passed through. I would not stay again until the negatives are fixed. UPDATE: After writing this review, the owner called me and said I am no longer welcome to stay at this park. I am changing changing my 2 star review to 1 star.

Clean, quiet and serene. The size is on the smaller side, so it won't be a crowded place to stay, but maneuvering around with a larger RV if they're half or more full, could present some challenges. We were allowed to stay connected for one night stay, we just had to angle park to keep out of the driving lanes. Spaces have some room between them so even if they do fill up, you're not feeling like sardines. Nice views and easy access from the highway. 30/50 full service, also spaces with only water and electricity and even a few cabins. Really a good spot overall.

My family and I stayed in the large cabin and it was way better than I imagined! It was such a cute and cozy cabin. We loved it! It's a lot bigger than it looked in the pictures and they have everything you need in there like cooking utensils, coffee, a fan, towels. It was very clean as well. It was great. My kids loved the bunkbed. We will definitely go back if we're in the area again. I'd want to stay more than one night though!

I never actually got to experience capulin camp sight unfortunately let me explain of course I work for a drilling company and me and my partner in crime were in the area working and had a rather tuff day the moral of the story being that I'm a CDL driver and getting ready to be over my hours for what I'm allowed to work in a day and needed a place to stay and there's not a ton of options in this area and I don't have a sleeper cab and capulin camp was the only option for me without driving illegally over my hours for the day so I called the owner and asked if they had a tent sight available and that I would be there in an hour this was around 7pm in February so in the owners defense I understand that it's an unusual request this time of year because it does get quite cold but he says it's OK and I start heading that direction then things get weird I'm literally a block away and the owner calls to tell me the shower room isn't working and something else I can't quite understand because I'm talking on the phone listening to my GPS yell in my ear and trying to shift a 16 speed but I tell him I don't mind and that I'm pretty much pulling in right now so I pull into the sight and we start setting up our tent and the owner walks out with the local police who I saw when I pulled in and assumed had nothing to do with me and basically tells me again the showers are not working and as I am trying to explain that this doesn't really matter to me I just need to get a little sleep before I get back on the road and he basically very nicely tells us to leave the property I'm still extremely confused as to why the police were called or why I was told we couldn't stay there and should just drive to Raton and stay there the whole thing was very weird and now that I found out they have cabins for rent I'm confused why I was not offered one the whole situation was really just confusing and made an already bad...

First of all, our stay was fine, it's basically a parking lot with hookups. Restrooms and shower house was closed due to covid so I can speak to that. This one night stay came at a huge waste of my time and energy. Reservations can only be made by phone. I called and the office manage answered but told me she had a meeting and could she call me back within the hour, which was fine. I waited the hour and then five hours. Called back and got the answering machine, left a message and waited. Called again the next day and got the reservation made. There is no confirmation of any type to be sure of your reservation. Arrival time is 12:00 PM and the gates close at 6:45 PM. Not sure how they can have such a short window of arrival since they are the only place within 40 miles to camp. When we arrived, we were told different things than we had been told when making the reservation, like where to park our extra car. Later, I found out I had been charged when I made my reservation and then again the night we actually stayed. Had to start the phone calls over again. Left a message, then nothing. Called again and got the office manager. She asked me 3 times if I had a cancellation. Three times I told her, no. She said they are not in the habit of charging on the date of the reservation and then on the day of actual stay. Habit or not they did. She said she would call me back on a certain day when she had time to look into it. The day came and went without a call from then. I tried about 5 times to call again with out an answer. I don't have the time or energy for this and filed with my CC company. My money was refunded. I will never stay her again, it's just not worth...

We made reservations two months early or longer. The lady was short and rude told me we had to be there no later that 6:15pm. So we skipped a decent lunch in order to make it. Upon arrival my wife and were riding Harleys as I told the owner we would be. After a 400 mile day(arrived at 5pm) it took us a minute to get off our bikes. The office is their home evidently I sort of expected her to step out on the porch to greet us, nope! So I went up the porch tried the door handle when I saw another note (notes everywhere) please ring bell so I didn’t even get the bell pushed when the door swung open and with an attitude of hatred she says what’s your name, what do you want here, what are you doing here? I was shocked so I began telling her my name as I did dogs were continuously barking inside so she repeats I need your first and last name and what is your purpose here? At that point I said I think we’re both having the same kind of day in a jokingly manner and she pops off don’t you come up on my porch telling me I’ve got an attitude. I turned around to walk back to my bike and she says I’m still going to get full payment for this room. I didn’t even respond my wife and I just got back on our Harleys and rode another 100 miles home. If my credit card pays this psycho insane woman I’m cancelling it. I’ll never spend another dime in Capulin NM ever! We travel thru there several times a year. Beyond done! Woman is totally nuts. My wife is a school principal and when she says someone has rude behavior that’s saying something. Thanks But NO THANKS...
