I stayed here for 3 nights with my family and it was overall quite an awful experience. If you search for campgrounds nearby, this place is top of the list. That is bizarre to me. The campsite we were at was grown up with grass and we had to ask them to cut it. It is a really cramped campground. Centrally located to most local state parks, or any other NC city. This campground has some camper sites, cabins, and tent sites near the pond and pool. The other alleged tent camping sites are located down a creepy abandoned logging road. Either we were fish out of water (compared to other guests) or we were not “in” on what was exactly going on within this campground. There was an odd creepiness to this campground -due to some of the long term residents. I did not feel safe here nor did my fiancee. As one review stated, there were different people staying at this campground, some overnighters, some in cabins but a majority are long term residents. This creates a different atmosphere for all guests in my opinion. The property seems to have changed hands in the last few years and they are trying to cater to a different type of clientele. I would NOT let my kids roam free at this campground. The bath/shower house near the pond is a complete mess. The floors have dirt, grime and hair on them and seem to not be routinely cleaned. The walls are dirty, pipes rusted, the doors do not lock to either bathroom door. A little cleaning goes a long way. It was apparent they do not have a routine cleaning schedule for this bathhouse. The wifi works and the pool is clean. I asked them to replace the women’s bathroom toilet paper, and they said we will think of doing that! I would not advise a family to stay here if you are going to rely heavily on the bathhouse. In my opinion it is not safe for kids.

CABINS ARE ABSOULTELY AMAZING!!!!!!!! PEACFULL SAFE AND FRIENDLY. WHEN WE ARRIVED WITH MY WIFE AND 5YR YEAR OLD DOUGHTER, WE WERE WOWED AND LEFT WITH THE SAME FEELING. THE POND, THE DUCKS, TURTLES, EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS STAY WAS EXACTLY WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR! A PROFESSIONALY MANAGED CAMP GROUND WITH PEACE AND TRANQUILTY. NO LOUD BARKING DOGS OR ANY ANNOYANCES AT ALL. IF ANYTHING I THINK IT'S UNDER RATED AND FRANKLY WE WOULD HAVE PAID QUITE A BIT MORE. EVERYTHING WAS CLEAN AND LITTLE TOUCHES LIKE FIREWOOD READY FOR US IN THE FIREPIT WAS JUST PROFESSIONAL. THERE ARE FLAT SCREAN TV'S, GREAT INTERNET AND BEAUTIFUL LITTLE TOUCHES IN THE CABIN DECORE. SPECIAL THANKS TO MANAGMENT AND TANNER AND THE FAMILY WHO BUILT THIS AND MADE IT POSSIBLE. I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH OTHER THEN THANK YOU! THANK YOU! AT THIS POINT. WE WILL BE BACK AND SHORTLY. SEE YOU SOON BEARS DEN!!! ***** (ONE NEGATIVE)- EVERY SQUARE INCH OF THIS PLACE WAS BUILT WITH ONE MANS/WOMANS VISION AND BARE HANDS, BLOOD, SWEAT AND POSSIBLY TEARS AND IT 'S CLEAR.(((THATS THE VALUE))) IF YOUR INTO FANCY SHMANCY GLAMPING THIS ISN'T FOR YOU. THEREFORE ITS HEARTBREAKING TO SEE ANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS BECOUSE THESE PEOPLE DON'T DESERVE THAT AND THATS THE NEGATIVE.

I rented Cabin 4, Jan 2024 to March on a month-to-month lease. No hot water and bad even for a trundle bed but hey… it’s camping! Soon my gf and I are waking up to bug bites, and find bed bugs crawling out of the walls. We call the landlord “Tanner” who apologizes and tells us just leave our linens on the porch and be out for a few days because Okin is coming to spray… a very prompt response, and continues to ignore all my calls or texts with questions about the treatment. Orkin comes and refuses to treat that day because all personal belongings had to be removed from the cabin, in the rain, and not to go in for a few days. But Tanner the landlord agreed to reimburse me for all laundromat fees that I had pictures of, as well as reimbursement for the month that I couldn’t stay because of the bugs, and for lost wages from having to stay and move everything out of the cabin and meet with Orkin as he was too busy. We shook hands but here at adventure village they say always get in writing because once I got off the property, Tanner the landlord texted me and said he changed his mind about reimbursement… Adventure?? I suppose it was… I stayed the beginning of January until the end of February

I booked the site for 2 camping cabins for 2 nights. I paid 1/2 up front and planned to pay the 2nd half upon arrival (as I wasn't told to expect any different) When I arrived I went into the office to "check in" and pay and I was told my keys were in a drop box. I asked about paying the remaining balance and was told it was already charged to my card and was charged days prior to my arrival (A charge which was unauthorized as I wasn't planning to pay with that account upon arrival, and no mention of pre charging when I spoke with Dale on the phone. I agree that the camp sites are very close together, there are no areas around the cabins to enjoy any outside activities- corn hole, etc.) near the cabins. My parents are older and not interested in hiking. While we had planned on staying 2 nights, our home town experienced severe weather which caused 16,000 people to be without power with many homes and properties damaged by fallen trees. My Dad called Dale and asked if we could leave due to the emergency situation and get a refund, he was told we could and to let him know if everything was OK at home. After arriving home to find some trees down and to losing all the food in our Refrigerators due to power outages and the front door of my house blown open, it was nice to know I was going to get my 197.14 refunded to help with food replacement costs, etc.....I checked my account Monday and didn't see any activity and called Dale to see if the refund had been submitted. I wasn't told until Tuesday that they wouldn't be refunding my money as they weren't able to rent the cabins. This is horrible business. 1st off, the rental agreement wasn't provided until check in and monies already charged without authorization, 2nd I wasn't told the refund would be dependent on re-rental. Had this been the case at least one of us would have stayed the remaining night while the other family went home to do damage assessments to our homes. I will be disputing the charge with my bank, I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and I will be putting this review on all review sites. This is the last thing we needed after dealing with a natural disaster. **Dale only advised that we could stay another night- however, I do not have any plans to ever return to this small campsite that has unfriendly staff that keeps money that was promised to...

If I could give this place a 0 I would. My family paid to stay Saturday night and camp, fish and use the pool. The rate was very reasonable and were excited that we had found a place so nice and peaceful. We were already talking about our next trip there. Sunday morning(father's day) a maintenance man or employee came around and stopped to say hello and my son ask him how much more needed to be paid to fish and swim for the day. The man said "don't worry about it, just enjoy your father's day" we thanked him and lit our grill around 1130 or so. At 1230 the owner Dale Owen came and told us that we had to go because we hadn't paid. My son told him that his employee had said we didn't need to pay additional to stay. He told us we had to leave right then. Our food was half cooked. We had to pack everything up that second. We had to leave our grill because how do you pack up a grill full of glowing embers. I advise everyone to think twice before going to that place. What terrible customer service!!! When you try to do the right thing and pay to enjoy your father's day and are run off with no reasonable explanation. BEWARE!!!

I did receive a response from the new owner, old owners son. That is a lie. There weren't 16 people brought. My son did have friends that had paid to fish and camp.. That stopped by to say hello and to see his new daughter. No one was taken advantage of as you are trying to insinuate. We tried to pay Sunday morning for the ability to stay for a few extra hrs and let the babies fish but was told not to worry about it. Imagine how put off we were when we were ran off. You can make excuses and try to blame my son for your employees lack of communication if that makes you feel better for the way we were treated at your place of business. I hope this review is read by everyone that Google's places to camp in Brevard. Your response was very lackluster and no responsibility for the fact we were told to not worry about it and for my son to enjoy his father's say. This shows anyone else that may come there and have a complaint or concetn how they will...

We reserved a tent camping site because we would be in Brevard the evening before the eclipse in 2017. We are veteran tent campers and have been to many, many campgrounds all over the country. When we made the reservation, the man on the phone did tell us that if we had a small car we might not be able to make it up the mountain to the tent site and I assured him I have an all wheel drive car and would probably be fine. Well, he did not underestimate that statement. The drive to the tent sites are up a very steep, windy gravel road with deep ruts in it all along the way. You definitely need all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive to get up to the tent sites. Most of the tent sites are flat but do not have good parking on each side because it is on the side of a mountain. Our site had a deep rut in the entrance to the tent area so we had to park on the side which was a very narrow, winding road and I was very worried that someone was going to hit my car. You could not walk down the hill to the facilities because it was too far. They had one small porta-john on the mountain for the entire set of tent sites. There is water and electricity hookups at the sites but they do not work. We did have a nice, quiet evening but all of these drawbacks made it not worth the $30 we paid for one night of tent camping for 3 people. Early in the morning, what sounded like a kennel full of dogs started barking at about 7 a.m. and did not stop the entire day. Not sure where that was coming from but it was very loud and echoed throughout the tent Site Area. On a positive note, they do have a small outdoor pool and we were able to beat the heat by taking a dip but there were about 50 other people in there with us so too crowded to just stay and hang out. Also, they have a small catfish pond and my husband caught a giant catfish. The bathrooms in that area are very small and were not clean. Not sure about the little cabins which looked really sweet and if they had a bathroom and were clean they might be...
