Yellow Cottages Vacation Rental — Hotel in Brevard

Beware. Stay was good. Cottage was pleasant, and clean. However our stay was not perfect. We had the wrong instructions in the VRBO email for wifi. Called the number provided the next day and got help from a nice lady that we assume was an employee. Also we had no wash clothes. Only towels and hand towels. Went and bought wash clothes. No biggie. The hot tub was broken. We called the nice lady again. She came over in person and said she couldn’t help us. The last night, the bedroom AC thermostat quit responding. We could turn it off and on but couldn’t make the temp go above 66 degrees. As we were leaving the next day, we did not call again.

We followed these checkout instructions. Check-out instructions Self Check - out: 12 noon Please leave the place like you found it (dishes, furniture and decor) we will take care of the bedding and towels. Leave trash in front porch or you can take to bag to the big black dumpster (located by the garage and "Casa Grande" (near the 2nd entrance). Thank you for your consideration, Robert and Cindy

We left a 4 star review on VRBO stating we enjoyed our stay but mentioned the hot tub and the AC issue. I did misspell the word charming in the title as harming, so the review is titled harming stay unfortunately. Today we got a $100 cleaning fee hit on VRBO. The employee will no longer answer the number provided. The owner claims we left trash inside. No it was left on the porch as instructed. The owner claims we stole two towels. No we left everything provided and had to buy wash clothes. The owner claims we left towels in the bathroom and not in the laundry room. We did. It was Not mentioned in above instructions. The owner claims we left dirty dishes. We hand washed dishes the morning we left.

Beware. I’m trying to get the $100 charge reversed through VRBO.

UPDATE. I did get the "employee" to answer the phone. It is actually the owner. She seems surprised that the checkout instructions are not more clear... I will update this review if we find out this is a misunderstanding...

So the charge has not been reversed. This reflects very poorly on the owners and Vrbo. Here is the guest review that the Owner left for me before deciding several days later that I needed to be charged a cleaning fee. The star icons show up as words. I was 5 stars all the way.

I took my son and his friend to Brevard for a few days and we had the chance to stay at the Yellow Cottages. We stayed in Pura Vida.

Our stay was wonderful! There was plenty of space and it was super clean! The boys are both 11, almost 12, and they loved everything about the house and property. Cindy was super friendly and any time we needed anything, she was just a phone call away.

The hot tub wasn't on when we got there and we had to call for help to get it going and she had it up and running in no time. The wifi was awesome! Two boys on devices and watching YouTube continuously and we didn't have a single problem.

Cindy even gave me a tour of Casa Grande and if you have a larger group, get that one! You won't be disappointed! There's also a ton to do outside. This place was just perfect. Our favorite part was the cat who greeted us and hung out with us off and on while we were there. We all miss Tiger already!

After seeing the other review with complaints, I just don't understand what happened. When staying at someone's property, if you leave everything clean and as you found it, there shouldn't be a problem. If you want someone to clean for you, go to a hotel.

I definitely recommend the Uellow Cottages at Brevard! Great location, great value, great...

Robert and Cindy were awesome. We did the Bus glamping for 5 months. Cindy was so on top of things and a real Rock Star. Any issue or concern was dealt with promptly. One hard working family. We feel like they went above and beyond for us. We feel like their good friends now. Their son is an amazing young man and very helpful as well. Highly recommend for anyone to stay here. They'll take good care...
