Family of 4 (3yo and 1yo) stayed in the 2 bedroom model.
Overall, I do not think this is a bad place to stay, but for a family with small children it was not ideal. It is in a quiet part of town and centrally located on the Cape. We did not avoid spending time in the unit because of the issues below, but we would choose to stay elsewhere the next time around.
----- Details Below -----
Staff seems nice and the location is OK. The units are definitely older (think 1980s) with early 2000 appliances. We expected the units to be older.
When we walked in it it seemed like the cleaning person simply went through the motions to clear the unit when the last person checked out. We found part of an onion peel on the kitchen counter in plain sight, chemical smears on the toilet seats, and overall mediocre cleanliness throughout. Some drinking glasses had food gunk all over them. If you are the least bit a germophobe LOOK ELSEWHERE.
Floor layout is pretty good for a small family but be aware they have taken few measures to child proof. Lots of exposed brick and corners from LOTS of cheap furniture (end tables galore). If you have little ones be prepared to be in a CONSTANT state of fear. Sure enough despite being on guard 24/7 after 3 days our daughter tripped and rammed her head on a table at the foot of our bed. No idea why it is necessary to have 50 types of tables in a unit, but I guess some people like this style (not those of us with kids;).
We had a washer and dryer in our unit, and were not happy when we realized that the dryer had saturated our clothes with the smell of mildew. I would bet that somebody left wet clothes in it at some point and housekeeping simply doesn't open it up and test for smell between stays.
Was initially excited that our suite had a fireplace. We burned the required Duralog bricks. When we awoke in the morning the entire place smelled like a camp fire. Guessing there is no cap on the chimney.
Google's 2 star assessment is spot on. Our TV was not even 1080P and many of the TV stations didn't...
Read moreAh, Brewster Greens... Where to start. I guess I'll begin with the positive first.
The GOOD - Spacious units. We learned during our stay that once upon a time, these were condos, so they are full sized living facilities. Lots of room to move around and lots of privacy. You're not on top of one another.
Immaculately Kept. Upon arrival, the unit was spotless, which seems rare these days and the grounds are well maintained.
It's Quiet. 'nuff said.
Well Stocked Kitchen. Everything you could need was there. And if there was something you needed that wasn't, the staff would get it for you.
Friendly and Responsive Staff. Everyone we encountered at the resort was so welcoming. They'd bend over backwards to make sure your stay was great. The maintenance team was on point. We had a couple of minor issues that they responded right away to. Kudos!
And now, the BAD...
Resort is Outdated. The entire resort needs renovation. The units don't look like they've ever been upgraded and the place has been around since the 80s. While the appliances work they are old so their time is coming (soon). The bathrooms feel very "80s'". (My bathroom sink was avocado green. Talk about a blast from the past!) The furniture in the living and dining area felt like grandma's house. It isn't modern at all. And the outsides of the units are old and worn. Maybe these things don't matter to the majority, but they matter to me.
Lastly, the fitness center is in bad need of a makeover.
Overall, aestetically, the resort just felt TIRED. Luckily, we were informed that they are slowly starting to work on the place.
It's Far from Everything. You have to drive quite a distance to any shopping or attractions. If you're looking to stay in a place that's close to the action, this isn't it (although the nearest beach is a 5 min drive.) You're better off in Orleans or Chatham.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Brewster Greens. If you don't mind the outdated aesthetics it's a great...
Read moreMy family of 6 have been staying at this resort since 2013. At which time we purchased week 52. The staff here are extremely nice and provide great customer service but the units themselves could use a little help.
The units are very spacious but could use some renovating. For starters, we have stayed here for the past 4 Christmases and every unit that we have stayed in has visible cobwebs that could be easily taken care of. Not to mention the spiders that are not afraid to crawl about the place (hate spiders).
Again the units are about 1200 to 1400 sq ft but needs a little work. A coat of paint would be a good way to start. Also put in regular size refrigerators as the ones in the units are small. Last year when we stayed here the microwave was rusted and food was splattered all over it and yet housekeeping did not have it changed until we reported it. This year the refrigerator light and setting were broken and our food was not being kept as cold as we would have liked. They offered to replace with another but after the my husband fiddled with it, it started working.
Furniture have stains on them and smell musty. There are fabric refreshers like febreze that can be used to spray the couches between guests. Also the unit we stayed in for this year was last cleaned on 12/8 and there was dust all over the pillows. No one bothered to spruce up the condo before our arrival as it was last cleaned 2 weeks prior.
For a unit that sleeps 6 there weren't enough pillows or toilet paper for everyone to use. When we checked in this year, we noticed that they remodeled the lobby area which looks great. My hope is that they will get around to doing the units as well because the amount of money paid for the annual fee, something should be going into the units themselves.
We own at another resort and have not had any issues. We would love to see this reslet more current and up to date as I'm sure it's a great place...
