The Vermont Wedding Barn, aka Champlain Valley Alpacas, aka a Little Slice of Vermont Heaven, was everything we could have hoped for and more for our July '19 wedding. Jenny and Les, owners and host extraordinaires, are incredibly friendly, sweet, easy people to work with. Les' brother, Bill, was also on site all weekend, lending his hands and just being friendly. They went above and beyond their normal wedding weekend duties to make sure everything went smooth on our weekend. And look at those alpacas! They are such unique, cool, cute animals that were all much more sweet than we had imagined. They really provide a lot of character to this beautiful Bridport venue, and the 'Running of the Alpacas' is something we will never forget! When we booked this venue sight unseen, we had been a little apprehensive to see it in person for the first time, but the barn itself is much more spacious than some of the photos make it seem (we fit 140 people, buffet tables, a 5-piece band, bar, and more in there), the manicured lawn all around it provides tons of room for lawn games, appetizer tables, cocktail hour, etc., the pool cottage is a charming, spacious studio with a nice shaded deck and, of course, the pool to hop in when it got too hot was a big family favorite. There are a few different options for ceremony site depending on your preference, which is a nice thing for a venue to offer. We chose the sunny spot, next to the vineyard with the Adirondack backdrop. Can't beat it. It's worth noting that when booking at the Vermont Wedding Barn, you are booking the space to use for your wedding. Unlike some other places, you are not hiring a team to help coordinate, set up, take care of the logistical aspects. As I said, Jenny and Les were very helpful to us in so many ways, but just remember there are a lot of moving pieces that go into a wedding weekend! Planning and executing our wedding ourselves, we learned this first hand. Be sure you have help arranged for the weekend (recruit your family + friends!). Of course, this makes the Vermont Wedding Barn more financially viable than a lot of other VT venues! Overall, if it isn't obvious yet, we loved this place and would certainly recommend the venue to anyone looking for a beautiful, outdoor Vermont setting. There is something about a barn wedding that is just so fun, the 60 or so alpaca on the farm give the property a unique, fun leg up on other Vermont venues, and Jenny & Les take it over the top with their hospitality and friendliness. We are so happy we tied the knot at this great family farm - it will always hold a place in our hearts.

Where do we begin?! Les & Jenny are the kindest, gentlest souls. The Vermont Wedding Barn private cottage made for a unique, private getaway in rural, peaceful Vermont. Phone service was spotty and wifi didn’t work much for us, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it was the perfect opportunity to “unplug” for the week and instead spend our time enjoying the scenery, the pool, the fresh air, & the animals. The alpacas (of course) were absolutely adorable, and we got to meet some of them up close (including brand new babies!) and learn more about them. Jenny gave a wonderful tour, sharing the wedding barn (HUGE with adorable lighting and a bar!). She was quick to respond to my text messages with any requests or questions. They also have a little alpaca shop, so we picked up 2 balls of alpaca yarn and the cutest mini alpaca figurine. We genuinely enjoyed all interactions with them— it really felt like we were staying with family! The cottage itself had a Keurig coffee maker, microwave, and mini fridge (which was great for storing small snacks and leftovers). There is not a kitchen or sink, so go into town for meals and bring paper plates/cups + bottled drinks. The towns of Middlebury and Vergennes were only about 20 minutes away, which were great for food and shopping. Some of our favorites: Next Chapter Farm Stand, Royal Coffee Co, The Vermont Store, Vermont Cookie Love, and the maple cremee stand in the Woodware parking lot. We also got to bring our two furry friends! We had plenty of room for them, plus we brought the dog crate & bunny pen. Our puppy loved walking up and down the property and going into town for biscuits and maple cremee Pup Cups. Overall, we had such a memorable time and would recommend the Vermont Wedding Barn to anyone who is TRULY looking for farm life hospitality, a fully unplugged experience away from the hustle and bustle, and a chance at “slowing down” to connect with each other and explore life away from a screen. Thank you again to the Foshay family for an unforgettable experience!

I just had my wedding there this weekend. Everyone keeps going on about how magical it was. Les and Jenny go out of their way to help make the day. We picked this place bc of the view and the alpacas! Once you meet them you’ll never confuse them with a lama. For me personally I find most wedding venue I’ve been to, to feel like a “wedding machine”/ mc mansion/ generic /forced wedding with horrible food and just super over priced for what you get. I’ve also been to country club weddings with horrible food and in one of their ballroom/ conference room. I really wanted someplace special for my wedding and that’s why I picked this place! The price is affordable which was great he than we had more in our budget for flowers (nectar and root) and for food (woodbelly). As I said our guest said it was magical and something out of a fairytale. If I could do it again, I might of got a wedding planner just to help make it less stressful. The only frustration I had with the venue was at the end of the ceremony. I didn’t want my guest carrying their chairs, I stated that, my mom stated that and I was very willing to pay to have them moved to the barn…….. but at the end of the ceremony they were told to move their chairs and carry them back, which was upsetting and frustrating.

The Vermont Wedding Barn was the perfect location for our late September wedding. The owners, Les & Jenny are the most wonderful, hospitable and caring people and we were so thankful to have been able to spend our wedding weekend in their company. The way they open up their home and hearts to their guests is amazing. The venue is well set up for a wedding of almost any size. Our event was small & intimate (about 70 people) but the barn & grounds could easily have accommodated three times that many people. However, the barn did not feel empty with our smaller group. Set up was very easy, with tables and chairs already on site and lots of decor stored on the premises for our use. One of our goals was not to create a lot of waste or buy a lot of decorations that we would never use again. Between what we did buy or make and what Les & Jenny have on site in their storage area, our tables were lovely and unique, without the waste. The property is incredible and our guests were thrilled to be able to wander outside, play lawn games, mingle with the alpacas (especially little Buddy & Bobby) and enjoy the truly incredible sunset. The running of the alpacas was so much fun and such a unique moment for our event. Staying in the pool cottage made set up so easy and we enjoyed spending the extra time on the farm. Les & Jenny were able to recommend many local vendors for food, liquor catering & heater rentals & were so incredibly helpful with our...
