When looking for a campground, every familly has it’s own request. It’s the playground for the kids, a pool, activities, a lake or whatever. My wife and I live in Magog, Qc and we are in our 60’s so we were looking for a quiet spot for this particular weekend, in nature as much as possible with a place to put our kayaks in the water. We also like to go across the boarder, it’s close and we really fell like we disconnect from our daily life, our mother tongue being french…. And gas and alcool are cheaper 😊|This past weekend, we had a reservation in Stowe… and 24 hres before we get there, we received a call, it’s canceled because the campground was flooded. |My wife made numerous calls thursday afternoon to find a campground near by that we can access because many roads were closed too and most of them were already full.|We ended up at Island Pound, VT, at Lakeside Camping, an 1 hour drive from home and they have some space available, not too close to the children park, in a cul de sac….with a nice little lake… a beautiful beach, all natural sand…..It was perfect. |I ended up having an electrical problem with my pick up Saturday morning. The owner of the campground came to jump start it. He wouldn’t take money « Pay it forward » he told me. So I took a drive around the lake to recharge the battery. And later we had the chance too share a little bit of time with him and have a nice chat as he joined us on our site. A very nice man.|Sathurday night and Sunday morning, I used my truck to get around the campground because I’m waiting for a knee replacement surgerie later this summer. We ended up having the same problem Sunday afternoon. Maurice (the owner) is back at it, but the truck won’t start, we don’t ear the starter at all. I soon as a poped that hood, help can from all over the place to try and find what was wrong, my wife and I couldn’t believe it. |I won’t mention everything Maurice did but he went all out to help me and I even ended up with his golf cart for the evening because he new about my knee problems. And to cut the story short(er) Monday morning, he ended up towing my truck in town to Pepin’s garage, one of his tenant on the campgroung and Pepin fixed the problem before dinner. No need to say that we were so happy… not that we didn’t want to stay another day but my wife had an appointment monday night.|I’m almost sure that the owner is an angel. I couldn’t see them but I’m pretty sure that when Maurice get’s home at night and he takes off his shirt, we can see his wings 😊 The man was unbelievable and now I have a HUGE depth to « Pay forward ». TKX to everyone that came to help us, this is a weekend we will never...

Read moreI am writing this review so no one ever has to experience the feeling that my family had to this past week. My father called this campsite looking for family members that traveled here from 8/28-9/4/19. We thought they never made it there WHY you are wondering. There was no Cell service for my family well they were there and were told there would be WIFI. Now my father called to see if they made it to the camp there person there said there are no people here by that name. Now its Monday and still no word the place called my father back and said we checked and still no one by that name. Now today Wednesday 9/4 my father got a phone call from a detective my brothers girl friend filed a missing person report because she was scared too. We didnt speak to her because we do not have her phone number but when the dectective called my fathers felt sick to his stomach. Well long story short my brother and his girlfreind called us late this afternoon. They are ok and HAVE BEEN AT THIS CAMPSITE THE INTIRE WEEK. This is scarry they checked into this place and checked out of this place with there RV but when we called they had no one by that name there.||||I consider this to be complete incompetent.
