Normally I don’t write bad reviews but be wary of this campground.
Lots or rules (2 sheets worth) Felt boxed in. Had to put a $25 deposit on a gate card to just get back in after hours. Office closes at 6 during the week so visitors can not come after 6 unless registered prior to then. Guest prices were higher than a KOA ($5 per compared to $3 at KOA)
The old shower room had changing rooms separate from the showers. Had to leave my clothes and walk to the shower in a towel. There were no locks on the restroom stall and the doors didn’t close properly. The new and old showers had poor water pressure. Wife liked the woman’s new shower though.
Game room smelled awful almost like a strong rotten egg/sewer smell. All games were 50 cents or more. Playgrounds were plastic little tykes and a really old slide, swing, and monkey bars. Pool was cloudy and had pond color added and the bottom was slimy. Although free the Shuffleboard had broken disks and bent poles there were no lines on bocce court and Putt-Putt had broken and missing edges. Paddle boats were nice.
Cart rental extremely expensive @ $45 for a 4 seater. (Can’t bring your own cart) The wifi was spotty at best.
Unless you’re a seasonal camper, or primitive camping, don’t expect any shade on your site. Only a few sites (maybe 5) that have 30/50 amp service. Power fluctuations from 105 vac to 138 vac. As read with my meter on my rv.
My family rented the Only cabin. Cabin shower was cold halfway through the first shower. and the breaker tripped using a hair dryer. No shade at the cabin either. Other than that they said it was nice.
Did not feel very welcome by staff. When i rented a cart the owner treated me like a kid. He said if i take his cart off road or break the rules he’ll jerk it back in a hurry and made hand jesters. Like I would mess up his cart. Always felt like they were watching us like hawks. Because of this it was hard to relax and enjoy ourselves. Felt like it was for seasonal campers only. all the sites except for the 2 rental campers, the cabin and the 5 full service sites were seasonal at least 93%!!!
I will never go back there again. Too expensive, too many rules, rude staff and poorly maintained.
Update: The campground did work with us to refund my money for a guest that I paid for that did not come due to an illness which I would have expected from them not because it’s nice but because it is right. Also they gave me a discount for being military. This was only after I had paid full price and my family told me it was offered again it was the right thing for them to do. I was not upset about the family reunion thing but i was not going to pay outrageous fees for a pavilion with no grill for a few hours of rental. We decided to go to my sisters house instead. My meter is brand new maybe you should check that sites electric. Lastly, everything I posted was honest and was my experience that i am sharing so others won’t be surprised. I like the way a bunch of your seasonal campers stuck up for you though it emphasizes your...
Read moreI wish I could give this place no stars but it doesn’t allow it. My family camped there last year and this year until last week. We never fit in there with the “crowd” so we kept to ourselves mostly. Yet somehow we were always “getting in Trouble” for doing nothing that everyone else doesn’t already do. We got a letter supposedly from the manager Issac but it clearly was that joke of a manager Jenny… we tried calling to talk about it could never once get a call back…. The letter said we had loud music we don’t even play music at our site other than the indoor camper radio… these supposed complaints were going to cooperate according to again the joke of a so called manager Jenny…. So we just didn’t camp for bout 6 weeks… fast forward my brother and sister in law get and eviction letter saying they are partying to much…. We all have kids no one partied to much or again any more or less than anyone else out there… then the joke Jenny said she set a meeting up with us we had no idea about it…My husband was in a bad accident at work and she wanted me to leave the hospital to come meet with her… when we couldn’t make the meeting she just stopped responding we called and got nothing back…. You know what we got….. removed from the seasonal Facebook page…. Is that how a business is run or is this high school….. we decided to just leave… we’re we kicked out we will never know because the joke Jenny is an awful awful manager and honestly not a good human being… The security guard wears his police badge around witch is totally illegal… we asked for the corporate number the Joke Jenny said there isn’t one…. Funny you said everyone has been calling corporate on us… she said you can email them and laughed good luck getting a response back…. I’m telling you beware beware beware.. check out yelp people are pretty truthful about how awful this cult campground really is… edit to add: as you can see the joke of a manager Jenny responded to my review. Again speaking of continued complaints. WE WERE NOT EVEN THERE. When We tried to address said complaints we could never get a response. If complaints were so real why can’t we have a corporate number? Why weren’t we addressed when said complaints came in? It’s all a joke. They can respond to a review but not the...
Read moreI really wanted to love this campground. It is much larger than it appears with several amenities for guests to use. We stayed this past weekend in one of the glamping tents.
The tent itself is great - plenty of room for everyone and we especially loved the porch. The beds could've been cleaner - there was grass all over them and an old dryer sheet on one of the beds, so that makes me think they aren't cleaned between guests. The tents are located near the swimming pond and a nice little playground. Not great if you want privacy, but convenient if you have kids. The pictures on their website for the glamping tents are misleading. They appear to come with bed linens, so we were surprised when we arrived to see there were none. Not a huge deal, but would've been nice to know ahead of time so that we didn't have to go buy some. The family in the other glamping tent had to do the same.
Our biggest issue is that they decided to put off fireworks right behind our tent on Saturday night and we had to vacate the area. At no point during booking, prior to arrival or at check-in were we told that we would be unable to use the site we paid for, for an extended period of time. We were also told that the fire department would be soaking down the roof of the tent and we should remove anything that we didn't want getting wet. So what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend now includes packing up stuff to prep for the spray down, along with finding a place for us to go with our 4 year old. Thankfully the campground is full of really nice people and we were able to move our vehicle to another site and had a place to stay until the fireworks were over.
I tried expressing my dissatisfaction with the situation when we checked out. The lady just smiled at me - didn't seem to care and offered no apology or any sort of compensation for the inconvenience and inability to use the space...
