My husband and I enjoyed the Sea Acres Cottages. The rooms were cozy, clean, rustic, comfortable and relaxing. The owner was hospitable and knowledgeable about the area. We were in proximate of 4 miles or less from the Pemaquid lighthouse, beach, arts co-op, Shaws Seafood, US Route 1, farmers markets. We definitely will be back. As an Herbalist, I was in awe of the local fauna of wild tansy, oak trees, goldenrod, Jewelweed and wild roses with hips the size of apples that grow prolifically all over.

We reserved a room and deposited $250 on July 2nd, 2021 thereabouts with Beverly Lord, Owner of Sea Acres Motel & Cottages. It was decided that we would split our reservation up between a motel room and cottage as Beverly stated that the cottage did not have a stove/oven to cook in the cottage. We arrived late the first night of our reservation because we got lost. We went into our room and was appalled at the condition of the room. The refrigerator was very old and had rust on the exterior door, there was only microwave and 2 burner stove... no oven. The furniture was old and smelled. The room had bad air quality and had a strong mold odor. This bad air quality exacerbated my asthma and allergies as well as my significant others and we began having difficulty breathing. We called Beverly Lord within 10-15 mins. and explained that we could not stay in this room due to the mold odor and that is was affecting our breathing and that I have asthma and if I stay in this room, I will be calling rescue. Beverly Lord did not offer us another room. We took the key to the office and Beverly Lord stated that we would not receive a refund right away because it was the weekend and the payment was through a third party. Beverly also stated that we would only receive $200 because she was charging us a cancellation fee of $50. This should not have been done due to the circumstances as aforementioned. We received a $200 deposit minus the $50 cancellation fee, in which should not have been taken by Beverly Lord due to the conditions in that room. This is deceptive and unfair trade practices. Also, due to what transpired and not being able to stay in this room due to bad air quality, we lost $250 -$300 worth of food due to not being able to refrigerate it.

We believe that under normal circumstances Beverly Lord could enforce and take $50 for cancellation fee but under these circumstances that were not caused by us, Beverly Lord & Steve Lord ethically & morally should have refunded the total amount of the deposit in the amount of $50.

We are considering legal counsel, if you do not return the $50 and also notifying the State of Maine Attorney General’s office, as this is “illegal” and deceptive...

We were there on a diving trip. Bev and Steve were wonderful hosts. when we first pulled up we were presented with a nice porch and beautiful flower boxes. You wont get that at any hotel. The cottages were cute and comfortable. It was like opening a page in the Vermont Magazine or Country living. Beautifully homemade quilts by Beverly. It was like Grandma made them for you with love in every stitch.

The cottages were clean, with endless hot water. They more then leave the light on for you. The bathroom has a night light, which is great for late night calls of nature in a new surrounding.

The yard provides, swings, lounge chairs, picnic tables etc. It was just great, plety of room to stretch out and relax. I didnt get to use the pool, but plan on it our next visit.

Plenty of nearby places to grab something to eat. A local Hannafords as well to purchse anyting you need. The cottage only comes with a fridge, but im not cooking on vacation anyway so it worked out well.

We hope to go back again next year, you cant put a prices on good people and good times. If you are looking for a great place to stay, thats like going to visit Nana and Papa, this is the place. Very quit and peaceful. I...

if you're looking for a relaxing and unpretentious place to stay, this is it. This is our second visit, and this time for a week. Steve and Beverly are gracious host/hostess who made us feel comfortable and at home. They are true Mainers. The cabins are rustic with a porch to sit on those Maine nights. Inside are lots of books to read in a corner nook, tv, small fridge, coffee maker, full shower-bath ceiling fan and window fan. It's a place to relax and get away from it. It's off the beaten path but yet conveniently located in Mid-Coast Maine. It's a short 5 minute drive to the Pemaquid Beach and Pemaquid Lighthouse. Two and a half drive to Bar Harbor, hour to Augusta and about 45 minutes to BoothBay. It;s about a 50 minute drive to Camden and the Camden Farm market. The property has an above ground pool and small children's playground. If you want to grill, grills are available. There are six cabins and a 4-unit motel. My husband and I will be making the trek to Sea Acres...
