I will start off by stating that if you are planning on having some quiet time with your significant other at this location you will probably going to the wrong place. The main problems that me and my wife encountered here was at first an issue with cell service there was none and we had two children at home that would have needed to call if an emergency had happened for whatever reason. The wifi-only works in the lobby area the room that we reserved was on the bottom floor and it was full of dog hair and flies as well as had a drip coming from the room above that was coming from the air conditioning that was dripping on our heads when trying to open the door from the outside. We did not stay here because of these reasons but let me tell you it don't stop there I reserved this room by calling and giving them my credit card over the phone the day before we arrived this was a 4 plus hour drive for us when we got there the parking lot was full of boats and trailers it was very hard to find a parking spot to even check in. After check-in our room was on the lower level which was all the way around the back side of the hotel\lodge which is a pretty good distance if you are carrying your luggage from the you parking spot that you might find which is all the way down a steep embankment around the building and down some stairs. Now we called the front desk to let them know that we would not be staying and that we would like to have a refund and the lady up front at first did not want to give us our refund but she decided to anyways. Now keep in mind we had no way of checking our bank account because there was no data for cell service for about a hundred miles out of broken bow when we finally got service my wife checked the bank and noticed that there were two charges 1 was the original charge from my phone call reservation the second was for two nights which was a total of three nights almost $500 we were out so we called to let them know that we had been charged almost double and she called my wife a liar now how are you going to call someone a liar who has proof in front of them stating that we were charged for three total nights when we are only going to stay to and then we only had a piece of paper that stated we would get a refund for only one night. I am just informing you as a consumer to be very weary of this place make sure you do your homework before you come and understand what you are getting yourself into or your family into. Yes there is a lot of activities in and around this area but this is the second time me and my wife have come to broken bow and had a not so pleasant experience. here's a tip as well be sure to look at all of the negative reviews from places that you decide to stay if I had read them before I would have not reserved this hotel...

My husband and I arrived on June 1, 2018 and checked in. The staff was very sweet and helpful. This is NOT a review of the cabins. Just the lodge. This review was rated so low for the following reasons:

  1. The lodge itself is outdated - the interior, the bedrooms, the grounds are "maintained" at best. So, if you are looking for anything more than just a place to rest your head...keep looking.
  2. The lodge does not provide any lake rentals. I found this very strange considering it sits directly on the lake. There is nothing provided to guests to use on the lake. There are 2 picnic benches that sit by the water but no grills. I've stayed at many lakeside and ocean side lodges and this is highly unusual. You might be thinking...just go rent something. Yes, you can rent canoes, kayaks, paddle boards and such but that is located about 10-15 min away on the other side of the lake. You will also share this area with the public and people primitive camping. So you would either need to use them there or transport and return the rentals. The paddle board rental was $22/per person for 1 hour. With the exception of the patio and the 4-5 picnic benches there is no place to sit and relax other than your room or on the water in a boat.
  3. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise, this lodge is best used for people with boats. If you need a place to sleep while you take your boat out on the water - this is for you. If you planned like I did, to sit and relax, walk around the lodge and set up a chair...this is NOT. There is about 1-2 feet of rocks that make a "shoreline". If you want to chill, watch your kids play etc you will have to do so from the rocks where the boats are being launched. This NEEDS to be explained on their website.
  4. Nature is beautiful, but the over grown trees make it almost impossible to see the lake from the 2nd floor in certain areas.

Finally, I DO NOT recommend this lodge for a vacation unless you have a boat, a truck to haul and rent things, plans to buy groceries because they only serve packaged goods for breakfast and plans to make trips into town because there isn't anything in the surrounding area. Pictures included.

This is not meant to harm the establishment - the two ladies were so sweet but this lodge has such great potential with a little innovation. It's their job to prepare their guests for the accommodations or lack thereof. Save your money and primitive camp on the beach line or buy a boat and have a place to shower. If you think, I'm going to wing it and go...bring everything you would to primitive camp in a motel room. I travel a lot and luxury accommodations are not a necessity but clear information of what to expect is. Again, this was not a review of the cabins - but I did pass by those and they...

I recently visited Beavers Bend with a group of Lady Photographers. I believe there was 7 in our group, we rented out the cabin for 3 days. Two ladies took the master bedroom. 4 of us in the other bedroom which housed 2 bunk beds, twin size mattress on top/full on bottom. The last person actually slept in the laundry room on an air mattress she brought, yeah, it was that big! The cabins are absolutely gorgeous, very spacious, and well lit. The cabin we rented, had a large living room, a full size washer/dryer, huge kitchen, game table, large dinning table, fire place, flat screen tv's w/cable and a full size hot tub separated from the cabin. The kitchen had the typical household appliances as well. We of course had one of the larger cabins. LOL...Warning.. good idea for at least one person to have a flashlight, and if it's your first trip to BB, get there BEFORE dark, because you WILL get lost trying to locate your cabin in the dark! I'm talking dirt roads w/minimum signs. We made 3 HUGE mistakes! 1. We listened to the team leader and started our drive AFTER 5pm on a Thursday because one lady didn't get off work until then. 2.We (my friend and I)traveled with people we didn't know very well and we didn't bring an ACTUAL map. You know, this is the "my cell phone does everything age". Needless to say, we had to stop for gas, they left us , and we were lost on the pitch black roads for two hours trying to find our cabin. 3. NEVER let the panicky friend drive when your lost and confused. With zero visibility, we were frustrated, scared, and she started to drive way to fast.... after screaming for the 3rd time for her to slow down, when she finally stopped, we were literary 4 feet away from driving straight into the lake. The road we were on turned into a boat ramp that went directly into the lake. 4.Oh, last but not least. Check with your cell phone carrier :) before heading out. Neither of our cells phones worked out there! I have T-Mobile, I forget what network she's with. Luckily a local stopped to let us use his cell phone to reach our party and look-up a map. I think he had at&t.(don't quote me on that) Keep in mind you are in the woods and at night it's pitch dark, the only other lights you see are from other near by cabins! The cabins are pretty spread apart...lol...just standing on the porch at night will make you believe you are in a "Friday the 13th" movie. All in all, it was a wonderful & fun experience. Took lots of...

I have waited a LONG time to stay at this property due to the prices of the "million-dollar cabins" but the lodge has usually been booked. Well, late March was our chance, and we took it! The senior discount made our stay very reasonable especially compared to the local cabin rentals. The architecture of the lodge is five star and right on the lake. The state did an outstanding job designing the upstairs deck, sitting/dining area with windows and the downstairs lake view patio lined with Adirondack chairs. There is also a gas fired "fire pit" but it was not on during our stay. Was really not cold enough anyway. The view from our lake view room was hypnotizing. One of, in my opinion, top two lakes in the state. Broken Bow Lake should be the standard for manmade lakes. Clean and clear! The only complaint and I did not ding them on my star rating, is the elevator was out of order. C'mon OK, a property designed with multiple levels needs a working elevator. Honestly, if I had to crawl up and down the stairs it would be worth the view. Also know, there are no amenities beyond the view. No pool, hot tub or dining/bar other than a continental breakfast. There is a very functional boat ramp but with parking but no dock. The property is close enough to a ton of great restaurants or bring what you want to eat and drink in your room.

Liars!!!Be aware of this place!!!! This place was not cheap for all this to be happening. The lodge is renovating and still renting the rooms out. I will have to say that the room is very clean and been repainted but, I don't  know why there was no dresser to put your cloths in and nor did the staff? So, we just used the other bed as a dresser!! Only one lamp and that is the only light except the hall so its very dark. No phone, and no clock.  There is a tv but, no hookups or network. There is wifi, kurig coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator, and hair dryer. The view is buetiful and very quiet. Breakfast is in the refrigerator in the lobby, you just go get it and heat it up in the microwave. No hot breakfast as the staff implied. One would think such a buetiful place and magnificent lobby with such grand furniture would at least treat their guests with a little bit of respect and provide a hot breakfast. I have impathy for the staff because their is a lot of confusion. No one there knows anything about anything!!!!  I asked about  getting a lamp and I was told, " is it really dark in the room"? Yes!!! The staff said, look how we have to work in the dark"!!! So,, like I said be aware!!! I will post pictures of how the rooms are supposed to look vs. how the rooms are actually.  Very disappointing!!!
