If i could rate our Visit No stars i would have. the place was very nice in a great location. But we encountered one of the biggest assholes i have ever seen! if its possible STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! He called himself "the owner" To make a long story short, He was aggressive, Loud, Bipolor, And we believe he might be a bit prejudice. We are a Loving friendly family from MASS looking for a safe quiet place to Camp overnight. Also somewhere Safe for my Three kids. One being only 10 months old. To make a long story short we happened to have more people show up then i had thought. I agreed with the owner that i would pay for all of the Guest. Total of 4 adults 4 children. agreeing we will have 2 adults leave before the nights over.
Later that night he creeply shows up at our Yurt in Camo uniform " BIG TIME CREEPY'' After spying on us at night. Asking 'When are the other adults leaving." I explained to this very creepy man that the adults are going to just sleep on the floor because they've had a few drinks and it wouldn't be safe for them to drive home. He then says "they need to leave and go find a hotel" i explained to him again that they cant leave. After i already agreed to pay for all of them i figured he'd be ok with it as long as we take care of his stuff and kept the noise down. NOPE, this is where his Bi-polor kicks in. He's says well if the adults stay here them i'm charging you for ALL of the kids as well. I explained to him that on his website the kids were free. and told him hes not going to charge my kids as well or i will dispute it through my credit card and have the funds returned. He get REALLY pissed at that point starts jumping up and down screaming "That's it! i'm going to call the police! All i said was i wasnt paying for the kids. The cop arrive after about 1 hour and the "owner" Peeping tom creep. Starts arguing with the cops! Because he started yelling at me again. after Over paying what we should have and after ALL of that i'm STILL going to dispute this trans action and make sure the funds are returned. Ruined our vaction Stalked us and made threats. DO NOT COME HERE...
Read moreThere is so much to say about a place like this. First, it's such a great place to go and unwind. This is the third stay at the Frost Mountain Yurts and it never disappoints. The last time I was there was over 5 years ago and I'm very happy to say that the owners have maintained the property extremely well. The Yurt was very clean, well stocked with fire wood, pots and pans, a propane burner, a "things to do /places to visit" in the area type of book and board games to name a few. ||||So why do I say be prepared? There's nothing negative here at all but you absolutely do need to plan accordingly since there is no electricity and no running water. We like staying in "Mountain View" (MV) which is the furthest Yurt in the woods, it's sort of like staying in the Penthouse. There are 3 others that are closer to the main parking area but if you're in MV you should know the following:||1. you have about a 1/2 mile hike into the woods. Now....in August there's an incredible about of bugs that bite, namely black flies and mosquito's with vampire like stingers (that's a joke of course, but wow did they hurt!) ||2. Pack as light as you can, the hoof into the woods with anymore than 1 wheel cart (which is all we had) was more than enough. Trust me, you'll thank me for it later. For the first night just take in enough for a that night, you'll be going in and out if you want to hike other places like we did. If you're there in the winter well.....you better do a lot more preparation! ||3. Bring BUG SPRAY!! I recommend something more natural (lemon, eucalyptus) but if you can't find that then get something, anything because if not you'll definitely be kicking yourself. ||4. Extra Citronella Candles (buy them locally and leave for the next people...just nice to do)||5. 2 days is just not enough time, give yourself at least 3 nights. You'll see why when you get there. ||||It's an amazing place, build a fire, have a glass of wine or a beer (or both) and sit back and enjoy the clean fresh air. Hope this...
Read moreWe just got back from a 2 night stay at Frost Mountain Yurts and we had the best time! We were incredibly impressed with every aspect of our stay! Check-in could not have been easier! We picked up our key and there was a cart we could use to lug our stuff from the parking lot to our yurt. The amount of space just on the property surrounding the yurt was great! There was a hammock, a fire pit surrounded by a huge bench and swing. All very nicely built. A station with large jugs of water to use for dish washing. A port-a-potty and even a solar shower. The yurt was surrounded by a nice deck with lounge chairs. Then the yurt itself is quite spacious! It was fully stocked, we didn't have to bring any kitchen supplies, just the food we needed and a cooler. This place has everything you need, we've never had to pack so little for a camping trip. There are multiple futons to use for sleeping and lounging and a table to sit and eat at. They even had an assortment of games. We were worried the other yurts might be close and we might have noisy neighbors (which is often the case at campgrounds for instance) but we couldn't even see the other yurts and didn't hear a peep from any other people the whole time even though the place was fully booked while we were there. We've never had so much privacy before! It was just a wonderful experience! We will absolutely be coming back probably multiple times a year. We look forward to coming back in one of the colder months and making use of the wood stove inside the yurt. Thanks so much to the owner(s) for such a class act...
