Rodeway Inn Denmark-Jackson — Hotel in Brownsville

The stay was horrible. My significant other and I have stayed here several times over the past few years and each time the experience is worse. This last time was the straw that broke the camels back. The outside was deplorable with trash and dirty towels outside guest rooms. I would not have paid much attention to them except for the fact that they had begun to mold so they had clearly been there a length of time. The arm chair in the room had no cushion left in it, the matching ottoman has holes in it, and both were horribly stained. There was hair stuck to the inside of the shower walls. There were used hair ties around the bathroom door knob. I got out the shower and my boyfriend asked me how I broke a nail. I said I didn't and looked at him to see him holding up an artificial nail on his finger tip. I watched his face turn from amusement to horror as he realized it was indeed not my nail. The worst part was the roach infestation. I did not see the bugs originally but when I began to warm food up in the mircowave they began emerging from every crack and opening. They were crawling from under the microwave, from under the carpet under the sink. The roaches had clearly made a home in the space between the door joining the neighboring room because for every one that was killed two more would appear. They were even behind the headboard. When I arrived home I cleaned my suitcase out in the driveway for fear of brining anything inside my home. My suggestion is to stop at at hotel in Jackson, push forward to Memphis, or just sleep...

1- floors were dirty, not washed. walking from shower to bed, my feet were black 2- bugs all over, dead and alive. dead ones in the corners 3- dirty underware in corner under the table from previous people 4- the air conditioner in the room above leaked down in our room, dripping all night. We didn't realize what the noise was and couldn't find it during the night. stepped in water next morning. Went and told the front desk agent, he told me ok. He came and looked at it and said "I'll try to get it fixed today, but no promises!" I asked for a different room then, he said not today. He then walked away! The ceiling was was dripping with water! I followed him and asked his name, was told I didn't need to know it. We went to our business items and came back about 5 hours later. Large puddle of water and towels in it. Nothing was done! I asked the worker who was outside the room about it and was told that they had been told nothing about the leak! It was still dripping. The spot on the ceiling was about 6 ft long and 2 feet wide and wet. All our towels were being used and when I asked for more and when the leak would be fixed, I was told no extra towels unless we paid for them, and someone would take care of the leak later. The agent would not talk to me or help me in any way! He actually walked away into the building! 5- the towels were so small and thin! and when I asked for more, was told no. 2 to a room! No bath towels,...

This place had mad roaches. Got there late and first the lock wasn't working which is whatever, but it's not good. Got in the room and looked behind the fridge to plug in a lite that was unplugged. 3 roaches. Killed 'em. Said wtf moved the dresser and fridge got another one. Saw one by the bed and killed that one too. So I was like "hell nah". When to the front desk and said you there's roaches. Got switched to the room right next to it and assured that the roaches must have been an isolated incident. So I was tired said whatever. Got my key (this one worked) went to the gas station to get supper and then came back to the new room. Walked in, there was a non roach beetle on the table. Killed it. Then looked around and saw the other roach in the video. Filmed it scurrying into the wall. And I noped out of there.

That's half the story. Went to the front desk to cancel. They said I'd have to cancel through corporate as I booked in the website for their parent company, choice hotels. So it was like whatever. But the next morning when I called the corporate office I was told that they could only refund me for the second night! So they lied about that. Then they charged me for the full stay. So both Choice and the franchisee were screwing with me. I've disputed with the cc company, but I this is just really bad.

So in summary. Active roach infestation. Ignorant of that fact. Tries to screw you...
