Flagship Inn — Hotel in Brownwood

PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ THIS BEFORE STAYING HERE. I came to this location so I could make it to my sons baseball tournament. I was given room 101 and I’m only posting my experience to hopefully help and or save someone else from this. My car was stolen and crashed and totaled leaving me stranded with children, my room was tampered with there were bugs everywhere and a needle fully loaded with meth found under my mattress. After talking with owners about all of this It was made to seem like “it is what it is” and then let me know they have tried to protect the place and take matters into their own hands but been denied they even told me how a red car pulls in and out a lot asking if they have seen two kids and that they were new to town and how the police ignores them and their problems because of their ethnicity, but to keep my children close. This experience was by far my worst and I know things just happen sometimes but the way it was handled after losing my only vehicle to this and having someone try to break in my room I was not offered money back, I called them to show the needle and the owner picked it up bare handed and said it’s probably diabetic needle and hurried out of the room. I called the police to add more information for my car stolen and was told to just switch rooms. It was not handled how a true business should handle...

First the hotel is cute. It's old but semi well maintained and the view is awesome. There are some cones with caution tape in the parking lot, but that's a small thing. It pretty much look like the pictures online. My door frame was all cracked up and not secure however.

Second, the staff is meh. When I got in they lost my accommodations/reservations and even with showing her my confirmation number she didn't want to give me the price I booked for. Second, the website says depending on occupancy there will be a continental breakfast or a hot breakfast. It's a slow time of year so I wasn't expecting hot, but they had nothing. They said there was not enough people because it says depending on occupancy. Three staff members hanging out chatting at the front desk can't put out some individually wrapped whatever and make some coffee. That is dishonest and misleading advertising. It messed up my plans and now I'm hangry. I shouldn't be reviewing before breakfast.

The only motel or lodging in or around Brownwood that is on the lake. Under new management so there is always someone available on the property to accommodate to your needs. Very quiet, peaceful, and relaxing environment; perfect place to get away!! The rooms have been nicely renovated and are exceptionally clean. The staff here are friendly and helpful and offer excellent customer service. A lakefront view within miles from the state park and Brownwood its got an excellent location. Don’t let me forget, they also have an outdoor pool which is awesome!! The price for this lil slice of relaxation is very reasonable, and i think they also accommodate weekly or long term rates if needed!! I will def return to...
