Recently, me and my girlfriend decided to try and go here for a swim. Figured it would be fun, however I soon found out that, that was not the case. We drove all the way there and parked our car where it was marked. I was worried that maybe no one would get to us fast. But I was wrong. To my disbelief someone was at our car in less than a second. Greeting us with the very very very unfriendly "what are you doing here" or "why have you come here" I cant remember exactly what she said. Now this question caught me off gaurd since my girlfriend had swam here many times in the past and there was never a problem for them. The lady made us feel as if we were not supposed to be there. Since when we didnt know how to answer she repeated the question again and again. I thought going to a place that advertises letting visitors in for food, swimming and a good time would be welcoming and happy for us to visit them. But as you can see this was not the case. Either way I guess she liked us at least for our money since she took the money without saying anything nice or welcoming like maybe "have fun" or "i hope you have a great day". Than we find out that we payed for nothing because the lake was actually closed (due to covid-19). Which was very upsetting since my girlfriends sister called in ahead of time and the lady told her on the phone that the lake was open on Thursday. Which we went in on Friday. So to end it all I went in to ask for my money back as politley as I could, telling her "I'm sorry but something came up, we have to leave, can we please have our money back. Which got the reply "fine" as she handed me my money back. Overall very mean people. Very rude, disrespectful and honestly not worth giving my money too. The camp ground looked like a trailer park anyway. Id give 0...

If I could give a 0 star I would! First thing it’s a trailer park with a few RV spots. VERY dirty; garbage everywhere. the “pool” is just a big pound in the middle of the park. Then lady in the office is VERY rude and nasty! When we called ahead to reserve a spot we told her that we had 5 people and where going to stay up to a week. We were in town for a family death, We told her that we might leave early. She told us that she would give our money back on the days we didn’t stay. She told us $200 for the week. She had no problems with the situation. When we pulled up she saw me in the front of the RV she charged us more. I guess she thought there was more then 5 people. No just 5. So now it was $250 for the week. Ok lied about the prices. We parked our RV from Sunday afternoon to Friday afternoon, we had it parked there for 5 days. when we told her we were leaving 2 days earlier then we thought and wondering what amount we were going to get back. When we asked she told us that we can’t have any money back. So she lied to us...again! Then as we were about to leave our RV need a jump. So we ran down to the office to see if they had any jumper cables that we could borrow. When asked they said no; and someone else the week before asked the same thing. They have no tools that could help you if you broke down. So we had to run to Napa down the street and buy our own. The “general store” isn’t even a store. So next time your in the Cleveland area, don’t stay here. Do...

In all my years I have only posted positive reviews until now. It has been over a year now since I left Willow Lake as a full-time resident for 12 years. The experience of leaving was so painful that I couldn't even respond until now. I watched from the beginning when the new owners took over and one by one asked guests to leave the property and/or refused access. All I could think was that they must have done something really bad to have been treated so poorly. That was until it happened to a couple of my friends and then it happened to us. The treatment by the owners was so egregious that I can't even go into details, it would take too long. But I can tell you that it was evident that if the owners liked you it didn't matter what the rule was, but if they didn't like you they made your life so miserable all you could do was leave. That was okay for me because I was only there because it was close to my job. I just feel badly for the residents who grew up there and now have their children and grandchildren there. Just watch your back kids, because if they did it to me for no reason they can do it to you to. Suffice it to say that if you are looking for a permanent camping site I would not recommend Willow Lake, not until it goes under new ownership. They are...
