I can not in good conscience give this place a good review. The General Manager Becky (I've dealt with some difficult people in my lifetime having been in the United States Army) is extremely difficult to work with. There have been a couple of occasions that warrant such a review but I will write one as I only have time for that.
I asked about leaving the club house open because I wanted to utilize the room to watch some television. I'm not discounting the fact that it's nice Hardy's Landing has a room for this. What I am discounting is her attitude towards anyone wanting to be in the room past 10 pm. There is a notice on the door that reads something to the effect of "Room is open until 4 pm. Please contact us about later hours."
I called her up about this as I wanted to unwind from a hard day of work. Unfortunately, I don't get back from Bible Study until 8 pm but I still wanted to watch my show. Her response was immediately condescending. Tonally, the way she speaks is reprehensible. She told me that due to liability issues she couldn't trust me to lock the door.
This would be a fair point except for the fact that she then called out other people who'd been at the RV park saying "TVs had been stolen..." Is this really a positive way to treat your customers? I'll leave that up for debate.
I understand this place has great prices and I respect that. I just find dealing with Becky to be absolutely painful. I don't know her psychological outlook or why she is the way she is but it's like nails on a chalkboard.
My suggestion to Hardy's Landing: Treat others the way you want to be treated. Give us an option, a key FOB, or make a rule like "nothing good happens after midnight" and close the club house then. The assumption that the customer is always a vagrant or the lack of trust that precludes these conversations is incredibly troubling. Let's work on a course correction and maybe I'll change my review. I'd caution anyone away from Hardy's landing that's looking into an accommodating management staff. The laundry rooms are nice, the bathrooms are great, and the price is right. BUT, the general manager is abysmal in her handling of people. She is positively rude in every way.
Edit: I took a star off for their absolutely terrible rebuttal that did nothing to address my main points...
Read moreWe started our rental June 23 and moved in a few days later. We sold our home and this was temporary until we closed on our land. When we signed the rental we were going to do month to month, but we were told to go ahead and do until the end of October so we wouldn’t have to move spots. We were assured that if we ended up leaving before then, that as long as we gave 14days notice we would not owe anything. Our monthly rentals ran from the 23rd of the month to the 23rd per our invoices. We gave notice on October 2 that we would be moving out by Oct 5. We ended up leaving Oct. 4. We were told we would not get a refund, even with the 14days notice. But that was ok, we were not going to argue that. So our rental should have ended Oct 23. When I asked about our deposit refund we were told it was refunded, but would take a few days. When I followed up days later they stated our balance ate of the refund. Come to find out they charged us for Oct 23-Oct 31 another $117, even though we have 14days notice before end of our rental month. So our last electric was $17.88 which they charged us for. They then refunded the $17.88, charged us another $15.08 for idk what so that with all these charges they didnt owe us the $150 deposit refund. I emailed and spoke to Becky who said there was nothing she could do that was policy. When I told her what we were told when we moved in she said “well she was new”. So how is that my fault. Not to mention in the 3mths we were there it was mowed twice. We mowed our spot and our neighbors spot as well as putting out ant poison. Also the washers and dryers were always broke and gross. They then started charging for use. They pick and choose what rules they want to follow and make changes to them when they want. They like to point out policies until you ask them to show you where it states that. It seems Becky is the only person you...
Read moreWe came for a convention at the Expo center and wanted to use the RV instead of staying in the recommended hotels. I don't really have any complaints but I thought I would leave some information for the next person. Because RVs are not bastions of sound-proofing, please know that there are nearby railroad tracks and trains are running quite a bit and at night too. The road, OSR, is quite busy with 18-wheelers, so there is a lot of noise coming from that. Sound machines will drown out a lot of the noise but if you are overly sensitive, maybe think about that a bit.
The sites are generally DG (decomposed granite) which is difficult to keep out of the RV because it sticks to your shoes. We were very careful and still managed to bring it in. Unfortunately, we did not get it all removed and ended up putting a tear in our floor while bringing in the slide. Again, not the end of the world, I'm just not a fan of that as an RV pad.
We noticed there appeared to be about 20 full-timers and because it was January, we seemed to be the only short-timers. I'm sure they are full during Aggie home game weekends.
So, overall the facilities such as the bathroom and recreation room were spotless. There were two dog pens at the back of the property. One of the full-timers had a dog in there and we used the other one for a few minutes. Not sure I would leave my dog in there for a long period of time, but it could be handy if you needed to do that. I've not seen that at any other RV park we've visited.
We spoke to someone by phone when we arrived because we wanted to change sites. They were super friendly and allowed the change without any paperwork on our end. The prices were reasonable. I'd rate it 4.5 stars but google won't allow so I am leaving 5 because I don't want anyone to think what I wrote means they...
