Karstens. A place I absolutely love with a fatal flaw that they don’t want to fix.
First off the rv park it’s self is one of the nicest places I’ve ever been. The bathrooms are big and always clean and stocked. The separate showers were always spot less and ready to go. The laundry room was always kept clean. The main roads themselves were impeccable as well as the sites themselves.
The staff was kind, courteous, and friendly. I never had an issue with getting in contact with them.
The sites themselves were easy to hook up to and they always try to put you in a spot where you have at least one space free on either side of you if possible so that was nice.
They have a pool which was always kept clean and never felt gross. Water was always perfectly clean and fresh.
The community of people there are better than you could have hoped for. They were so nice to us and made great conversation.
The location is about 10 minutes from college station so you have plenty of places to eat within 10-15 minutes of you.
Overall it’s a 5/5 place, the prices are great, the community is great, the staff is great, so why the 4 stars?
Internet, internet, internet. They claim to have WiFi and they technically do. By that I mean if you go to the WiFi settings on your phone you will see “KarstensRVPark”. Connecting to it and using it is an entirely different matter. Since day one we had nothing but issues. At first none of our devices could connect to it. The password was right but they just wouldn’t do it. The rare time it did connect the internet either didn’t work at all or was so slow you might as well disconnect, but you don’t even have to worry about that because it will kick you off every 10 minutes. I talked to a few of our neighbors and they all said the internet hasn’t worked in two months.
Cool. I go into the office and explain everything and through the course of the next week we get the internet company out here and the karstens staff told me that they said everything was working fine. Got home from work and had the same issues. I finally just called BrazosWifi their internet provider to get a direct line to our RV. I was chatting with him and he brought up karstens and said that they have old and outdated equipment and he could fix their issues but they declined saying they didn’t want to pay for that. We ended up getting our line and our internet was great.
We were there a month and there was 1 hour the entire month we were there where the internet worked on their WiFi. The longer I was there the more I noticed that most people had their own line because of it.
It was disappointing because everything else is 5/5. So if internet is important you while you stay there call Brazos WiFi. They are super nice and helpful. It costs about $70/month to get decent internet to stream and use but it was well worth it to us. If they can fix their WiFi then they would be my favorite rv park in the world...
Read moreWe have stayed at Karstens RV Resort over Thanksgiving / Christmas seasons for the past 3+ years and keep on returning 3 months per year. During Football season it is very difficult to get a booking but after that not so much. We like it and intend to return again. It is convenient to both College Station and Bryan 4 miles away. This is a country venue however and pastures border the park. Staff are friendly. We use almost no services like the pool, laundry but the bulk propane station is a real plus. We tried their cable internet but found it wanting. Our internet is from Verizon HS/T-Mobile HS & Starlink all of which are excellent. T-Mobile is nominally 150Mbps down & 7Mbps Up with 20's Ms Ping time. There are rules you have to abide by but are hit or miss on enforcement. The only downside is the occasional whiff from the park retention pond if the wind is just right from the south or southwest. The beautiful concrete pad with parking space is a real plus. Surface drainage is good as is the power, water and sewage systems. The park is well maintained with good garbage service.||2/13/2025 UPDATE: This year we had the party animals to the west who played loud Mariachi until 11:30-12:00 the parties were
Read moreI generally do not stay in an RV Park, but lately I have found it necessary for work.||||Karsten't RV Park has proved to be a wonderful place with all the amenities that are necessary.||||It is an extremely quiet property outside of town and seems to have quite a few long term (weekend) stayers which typically means during the week the entire park has more of an RV parking lot than an RV Park.||||The staff is very attentive and easy to work with. I haven't ever had any issue with the staff and they try to immediately solve any issue between guests immediately.||||Dogs are allowed on the property and a fenced area is provided for "taking the dog out for a walk", but picking up after the dog is a must.||||Pool, restrooms, shower facilities are all on site, but I have't had a need to utilize any of them.||||All the driving areas are paved and the pads for parking are all poured concrete which makes setup extremely easy. The Plug-ins and cable connects are also easily accessible and well kept.||||This is an RV park, not the 4 seasons.
