I work in the oil field and have stayed at this Sleep Inn several times over the past few years. It usually has friendly staff that will try their best to help you when in need. It is a nice new hotel with clean rooms and comfortable beds but the breakfast is not all that great. I have never had anything bad to say about the place until recently it seems like something has changed! Our company allows us to pick and choose where we want to stay while we are out of town so we usually always pick this sleep inn because we were allowed to use our reward points even though our company goes through a third party company to make our hotel reservation, but on this recent stay we were told that we could not longer claim the points unless we were actually paying for the rooms ourself. This was a let down since most of use these points to get a few free nights for our family's to come visit on the weekends since we typically stay here for 20-30 days at a time! Also during this stay I was working the night shift and had another crew coming into town so I needed to make sure the rooms were cleaned and the bed sheets were changed for my co-worker so this requires us to wake up early and miss some sleep to make it possible. I went to the front desk at 6 am and asked the lady what was the latest time I could have a room cleaned and she told me usually 3 PM, so she made a note in front of me to have my room cleaned last before the cleaning crew left for the day. I woke up at 2:30 PM and still had not had anyone come to my door so I walked down to ask if I could still get the room cleaned because a new crew would be here shortly and I wanted to make sure it was done before I left. I was then told the cleaning service had left for the day and it would not be possible unless I wanted to clean and change the bedding myself. This is disappointing since I took the time to make arrangements to have it done early that morning and the note was still if front of her where she could visually see it! She really did not seem to care but did help by getting the bedding I needed to swap the sheets out aleast. I think next time we are in the area we will look for another hotel that allows us to use our reward points and one that is willing to work with the nigh shift crews a...
Read moreThe facility was nice but was missing the small details of repairs and cleaning and service ! Such as poor Sheetrock repairs in various places from lobby to hallway’s and the room we was in 215 wood trim missing in various places The cleaning is good but the corners were caked up with debris in all areas And in our room and under the bed was very dirty as if the bed had not been moved the carpet was very dirty with cobwebs and and residuals from other guest ! The service department never cleaned our room one time in the three nights we stayed no trash was removed unless I removed and took to the hall or took to the cleaning service to dispose of it we did NOT receive fresh linens ever and towels I had to request and still did not get and had to have the front desk swap them out when the room service people were gone, causing the front desk to be unattended during some high check in times on a Saturday night as you could see the frustration on the desk attendant facial expression ! The soap dispensers in the shower were empty as we brought our own but point is don’t have unless filled my opinion and for whatever reason my wife nor I are handicapped but we were placed in a handicapped room with the handicapped shower/tub not what we excepted at all from online photos and we could only hope and really would felt horrible if someone with disabilities had needed a room but it’s occupied by folks that has no issues we were grateful for a room but very concerned about why we were placed in such a room that clearly had the tools one might need to take care of themselves and definitely was not what we thought we had reserved !!!! The breakfast buffet was fair glade to have the option of eating but the food was was poor and the dispenser for cereal was broken and they had us using a community cup to retrieve from the top of the dispenser many sanitation concerns in the breakfast area especially when this state has an outbreak of Measles happening A simple fix to offer was some sanitary gloves some won’t but I believe the option should have been offered with the situation that was and...
Read moreWe located this new property when driving into College Station for a couple of nights. It was early evening and the parking lot was nearly deserted.||||Upon entering and while talking to the Desk Clerk we learned the hotel had just recently opened. In fact, it smelled new and nice. ||||When the clerk told us of the available rooms, I asked, since the hotel did not seem very busy, why not upgrade us to a suite for the regular room rate. She went to talk to her manager to ask and when she returned she informed us the manager had refused our request. We were tired from a long day of travel so we took the standard room.||||On our way to the elevator we encountered the manager who informed us the hotel had just opened the rates were already discounted and she was not going to alter that. We are former innkeepers ourselves and tried to explain to her it may be a good marketing practice to upgrade guests when possible but she made it clear she was not about to do that in a rather brusk manner and walked off. As I said, we were tired but had we not already checked in we would have left at that moment to find another property.||||The room was spotless, the fixtures all worked and the mattress was comfortable. We have no complaints about that. All the other staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.||||Now, tot he title of my review, The manager's attitude and manner caused us to decide we would stay one night and no more. We were in town for what turned out to be 4 nights. All the rest were spent at another property nearby. ||||The upgrade would not have cost the property any money because the room sat vacant that night anyway. The manager's decision to give the absolute minimum and her brusk manner cost this property 3 room nights . That revenue will never, can never be recouped. ||||A rather inauspicious beginning for a new property, in...
