I DO NOT SUGGEST CAMPING ON SITES 117 through 124 and 125A through 130 if you are a weekend camper looking for a camper spot that isnt in the swamp or has grass or has space to actually move around or that is maintained!! My family had 8 camp sites booked and used for 5-7 days depending when each of us were coming and going.. The sites were LITTERALLY in the middle of swamp.. Most of our ankles even with sprays and precautions looked like we had chicken pox due to the swamp being infested with some kind of chigger that there was no getting away from! The poles that hold the site numbers were all busted out so you had to pickup and flip the poles to make sure u were at the right site. Or just completely move them so cars didn't run over them in the tight space all of us were in.. The water and electric poles were hit and miss if they worked and some of the poles are so unstable the water hose popped off and leaked everywhere on one of our sites. My cousin showed up and there wasn't any power on her site.. It took 2 days of inconvenience and relocating for that to get fixed with NO COMPENSATION FOR THE ELECTRIC SHE PAID FOR!! The sites were extremely swampy and NOT MAINTAINED in the section that we were in.. We had to keep asking the staff if they could bring some fill dirt so we didn't keep slipping and falling in all the mud, water and swamp. At one point the owner asked my mom "not to tell everyone she requested this or everyone will be wanting fill dirt" There were many "potholes" in the sites which caused 2 minor sprained ankles. You are extremely lucky if you can get your camper up to the pump station without having to squeeze through and worry of damage to yours or anyone else's belongings! Which is convenient for the owners as it's free to pump IF you can get your rig to the pump station.. Otherwise they charge you for a campsite pumpout even if your a paying camper with a rig that can't fit in their ridiculous pump station location.. This campground feels more geared to cater to day pass visitors or Season Campers if you enjoy being smooshed in like sardines.. The showers were average.. The best part was the beach, the camp store & some of the young hard working staff.. Especially Hailey who helped us and was very informative in so many ways.. We did meet both owners.. The Lady was very personable and nice to talk to but the guy seemed to have a "dont inconvenience me" mentality! I suggest more effort in maintaining the lower swamp sites and work on customer satisfaction with regard to "making a wrong, right!!" This is not a campgroud I plan to visit again anytime in the...
Read moreIn order to make my review as thorough as possible I think it is important to start from the beginning. I started coming to Fullers back in 2007 and I camped when I was little all throughout the summer. We had to stop in 2014 for various reasons, the biggest problem being our camper too long to tow properly. I recently came back in 2019 and camped in site 167a, a site that I have always wanted to camp in but I never did. This time instead of me and my family it was just me and my dog. It felt so nice to be back. This place houses fond memories for me. I remember pooling my money together with my friends to buy some sour straws ($1.50! Big money when you're 10!!) And we would sit and eat them on the beach. I remember a HUGE snapping turtle on the road and it was SO BIG they had to close part of that road off (or maybe I was a pip squeak...). I remember riding around on my bike with my friends, we would have races and see who could make it around the campground the fastest (I have 3 of the "Tour de Fullers" under my belt, no big deal). Coming back now as an adult I realize a couple things about this campground that I never noticed as a kid. -The ice cream is better than the kind at home, that's why it's 2.50 for a double. -I've never seen the garden in disarray. -Ive never had a bad experience from staff, they have always been so helpful! Sites are well maintained and are clean when arriving -Tuesday mornings are the most peaceful of all. -Little things like flower pots, signs, or lights have been added that make the place just a lil' more homey. -The big ol' barn is still there but with a better deck than what I knew.
All in all I reccomend this Campground. It works best if you are looking for a 4-5 day get away. Weekdays are the best, as depending on when you camp, the weekend rates might be higher. Karaoke and hayrides are still held on the weekends I believe. Make sure you bring extra sunscreen and maybe some floaties because that clear, Clear Lake is calling you.
-photos attached below are of my site (mid progress of packing up) and the "big...
Read moreWe have been camping in an RV for nearly 15 years. This is positively the worst campground we have ever had the misfortune of spending a weekend. If you don't mind parades of people and dogs continually walking through your campsite (even while you are sitting there), the non observance of any park rules (quiet hours, noise, screaming, yelling, etc), yellow well water, other people parking in your camp site, nasty restrooms, or over paying for what you get....than this place is for you.
We stayed this past weekend in a water and electric site. There is a dump station that is impossible to get to with a unit over 29' long. No sewer or internet will cost you about $40 a night. If you want to check in an hour or 2 early (check in is at 4 pm) it'll cost you an extra $9 bucks. If you are late leaving (check out is at Noon), it'll cost you $3 per person. This is the day rate that they charge for walk-ins to use their beach. They don't keep track of the droves of non campers clamoring to their beach, so these people park everywhere and anywhere - in your camp site, the playground, on hills, basketball courts. if there is an empty space, they will park there. With the extra non campers at the beach, you better stake your 6 inches of space before noon, or you won't have a space on the beach.
There is a non-smoking and on drinking policy stated on the website - also non observed by the overflowing dumpsters of empty beer bottles and cans. As noted on their park brochure, if you leave a piece of paper in your fire pit, they will charge $50 to clean it.
This is a very old campground. They don't seem to care about a nice camping experience, just packing in people like sardines and raking...
