I stayed here for two nights and had a great time, would definitely come here again. The lake is beautiful and is probably a little less than a mile down the road from the campground. Seems like a popular spot for fishing and kayaking, but also nice for swimming. The water is very clear but quite cold, and very refreshing on a hot, sunny day. The campsites are close enough together that you can see and hear your neighbors pretty easily, but there are lots of aspens that provide some privacy and shade. Typically, there is shade for most of the day, but during the midday it's hard to get away from the sun. All the sites seem like they're first come first served. I arrived on a Monday and I think about 60% of the spots were taken, so it must fill up even faster on the weekends. Luckily, there are lots of dispersed camping spots up the road if you can't find one at the site. There was no camp host when I arrived, but a helpful couple was in site 1 selling firewood. Overall, this is a beautiful and seemingly very popular campground.

This is the third time we’ve stayed at this campground and by far the best experience, really because of the attention to detail of the camp hosts. We stayed 3 nights in site 14, which is a pull through and I don’t think it had a tent pad but it’s private and surrounded by Aspens. After hanging out at the lake after checkout we decided to wait out traffic and stay another day. There were two big festivals in town we didn’t even know about till the day after we arrived. Anyway we snagged site 6 and what a different view, I’m pretty sure it’s Mt Princeton. This site wasn’t as private but no biggie. There is NO cell service so be prepared to unplug! We will stay here again and again. Oh and forgot to mention Cottonwood hot springs are just down the road. Ah heaven! Again special shout out to this camp host. They were nice folks and seriously the cleanest restrooms and sites I’ve ever seen here. Hope they come back next year. They close 10/15 so hurry up and catch the Aspens!

Love the campground. The camp host is unprofessional. The campground is peaceful with plenty of shade and restrooms. No cell service so perfect to unplug. Bear proof containers needed for food. Very pet friendly. I stayed one night and the campground host female clearly had friends coming that she was saving a spot for. She came to my site seven different times 7:30-10:50am and even had the gall to try to guilt me into leaving prior to the 11am checkout time, because “A family is waiting” versus just me who’d paid and had until 11am. She even had the nerve to come again at 10:50am and asked if I was going to leave on time. Common sense doesn’t seem to reside with her. Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable.

The campsite and the surrounding area is great and relaxing. But the camp host are a different question. We paid for an overnight stay and following that day camp. After being confronted by the camp host we were asked how long we were staying for the day. We asked the camp host well how long can we stay for the day as we had already paid for. She instead of setting a time for us allowed us to choose and we stated we would be gone no later that 8pm . Two visits later at 645 the husband comes by and literally can not think of a better sentence than "I really wish you would uh leave" and walked off. Totally unprofessional and complete lack of standing by their word. We felt so uncomfortable and would not recommend going back unless there are new hosts. Complete disbelief of...
