I did my combat training there in August of 83 before my overseas deployment, it was a requirement no way to avoid it. The heat was 103+ daily, the wooden barracks were just that, by 9am it was a convection oven and if you had the top bunk it was a broiler. The ventilation was screened in openings along the outside of the tinder box. Forget any kind of breeze...non-existant.
