Parks Bluff Campground, MO — Hotel in Bunker

I am very upset with this company. I booked a float trip in May and they required prepayment. They took my cc information but never email me regarding my reservation for July 9th. The week before my float trip I couldn't remember which company we booked with so I started to call all the companies that float the Black River. I called Parks Bluff and the phone number wasn't working. I figured that would not be the company i booked with so tried all the rest and none of them have my reservation. This is a 3 hour drive for me so I wasn't driving out with my kiddos to find out we don't have a reservation anywhere. Therefore my friend tried all the companies again and still the same result. Our last option to float was to book with someone else that doesn't require prepayment (thankfully). As we board our raft, I get a call from Parks Bluff asking if I was still coming. I explained what happened and she refused to give me a refund of $300. Not even half. She told me I could rebook but had to let her know by the following Thursday. However, I wasn't able to because of an emergency procedure. I tried to call her to let her know and AGAIN, the phone wasn't working to call in. I decided to fight this with my cc company instead and the funds were reversed but then charged back again. This beautiful campground has very attentive management but the security staff was very threatening, after 10pm there were some campers blasting music while our group were trying to relax and watch the stars by the fire. The security guard came to our campsite and flashed his lights straight to our faces told us if we continued to our relaxing night by the fire (we had no music nor kids nor screaming was generated by us) he was going to kick us out off the campground… just to be seating by the fire after 10pm… if that’s not allowed they should have rules and signs so everyone hides I. Their tent after 10 pm. it’s irresponsible to kick someone off a campground specially because we had around 4 campsites reserved and some people were already sleeping and some had heat stroke after our raft. Secondly the old guy was very rude and impolite, and third we did not go to sleep because other campers were blasting music so we couldn’t rest anyway. We were very polite with this security guy… and he treated us like we were delinquents. He was so outrageous with his attitude Making our relaxing weekend and beautiful experience there the most awful and embarrassing, we don’t even drink, we were with a sober group of yogis enjoying nature. The worst experience we all had, and we will share this to all our community so no one has to go through this traumatic...

This has been the fourth year that we have been with the campground. My husband was treated so rudely. We rented a canoe and floated with our friends. My husband went down to get the rest of the group after the float. There was a guard at the gate. She would not let my husband in to come get me. What takes the prize is that I checked in last night to make sure that they had the canoe reservation. I went down and ate supper with my friends on Friday night nothing was said that I needed to pay to go in and eat with my friends. She did not even tell me that I needed to check in on Saturday morning. The worker was so rude to my husband that she said she did not care if he came back. I want to know how long they will be in business if they treat all people like that who pay over 40.00 to rent a canoe for a day.

Believe me, I will be telling everybody about the horrible treatment at the end of our float. That worker totally ruined my floating experience. She has also made it to where my husband will never step back onto that property. I think that worker needs to be reprimanded for her actions. I am so upset with your campground. I will not rent from your company ever again!!!!!!!!
