This place is absolutely amazing for the price and the family atmosphere. Had to be the cleanest, most well maintained park around. We checked in on a Saturday, it was packed, and the staff helps you park your camper. If you are wanting a golf cart you better reserve it early because they go fast. As I was setting up the camper I let the older kids go to the water park. this concerned my wife until I explained it to her this way, where are gonna go the you are in the middle of no where. Sunday we woke up and went to church, which was 6 miles away, when we got back the park had cleared out and we pretty much had it to ourselves. Monday was the same as far as the crowd. When you get tired ya go back to the camp and let the kids stay at the park and you dont have to worry about them getting into trouble.
Things I liked the most: They have propane exchange if you run out. they have some RV items that you may need. They have some frozen meats and other foods if you run out or just want to try something different. They have beer if you didnt bring enough. If you want you can go sit in the bar and enjoy a drink. You can enjoy a beer at the pools, keep in it a cup not open cans or bottles. If it gets too hot for you or tired of the sun go to the inside pools and enjoy the shade.
Things I didnt like: Nothing they can change but some of the roads getting to it are not so good. The little zip line wasnt opened every day and my kids missed out this trip, we will be back. We had to check out and leave.
My recommendation: Bring a yeti style cup or buy one over there. Bring something that will kill mosquitoes candles and yard guard dont work. Go...
Read moreOur family made our first trip to the resort about a week ago. Upon arrival, I realized that the staff was very friendly. Although check-in and service seemed a bit slow, check-in and set-up went by without a hiccup. The water park, indoor and outdoor, was very nice. It will accommodate adults and children of all ages. I have no complaints with prices of the RV spaces for rent. However, I do feel that having to pay extra for overnight guests in my RV is a bit ridiculous. We are very family oriented and travel in a large group (15-20). In other words, it would cost an extra $20 per day/night for each additional person to stay in your RV overnight and attend the water park. I also think that $7 for a small daiquiri is a bit steep. I think this experience would be more enjoyable if there were more amenities in or NEAR the RVs (volleyball, horseshoe area, basketball court). There are lots of parents that are not comfortable with their children being far away from the campsite while they are preparing meals. I'm not sure if this park treats for mosquitos or not, but we have camped at other places and did not have issues that we had at this resort. I do realize that this is a fairly new resort, so shade trees are practically non existent. They are very small and don't help your RV in the sweltering heat. I would like for everyone to understand that I am in no way trying to "bash" this resort. I understand that it is fairly new, and I'm sure will become better with time. As for myself and my family, we enjoyed the stay but rate this facility as a three until...
Read moreTwo years ago, pre-Covid 19, I took a rafting trip down the Grand Canyon. On our third day, storms from the north east had dumped 18" of rain into the canyon, and by that afternoon we were white water rafting by necessity until we could safely get high enough where the impending nine feet high wall of water wouldn't drown us. It was harrowing, but ultimately nothing like stepping into the Penny Lane "Lazy" River, Louisiana's only outdoor white water rafting, jet powered training course. I thought I knew myself, had tested myself, until the undertow of Penny Lane cleansed my soul and then my underpants. Sure, I'd stared down the mouth of the world's widest an deepest non-oceanic canyon, but I had never come face to face with an alligator, spitting out streams of 40 degree water as I raced by, nearly breaking the speed of sound.
Adrenaline junkies will love the river, the twin slides, and playing golf cart frogger. Dads will love the bar! And the kids will do what all kids do, play until they get tired, and then hassle the S out of you for arcade money, Dippin' Dots money, or another pizza from the surprisingly inexpensive to-go kitchen. Moms can even karaoke on select nights, and then rehydrate at the camper the next morning with Bloody Marys*. And it's all brought together by top notch staff who offers the closest thing to Disney World caliber service this side of the...
