This use to be a Great Lake to go to back when I was a kid. The staff was pretty cool and you would see the same faces out there every single weekend made a lot of friends out there. Now that I wish to share that experience with my own children things are pretty much exactly the opposite. The staff has been rude nearly every time we’ve gone, one of the older ladies in the office to be specific. Normally I turn a blind eye to it but the latest time we went she came barreling out of her little office accusing us of not watching our children implying that we were bad parents. We tried to talk about what happened to us on their Facebook page hoping to get it resolved so we could continue going out there and having fun with the kids but it brought no response and probably got deleted as we were blocked from their facebook. Totally unprofessional and I hope they aren’t the owners of the lake and this some how reaches the owner so they will know how the staff is treating the customers. I will be taking my money to a different lake...
Read moreThe lake was nice. The boys caught its of fish and the kids had a blast swimming. I only gave it 3 stars because when we called, we asked for full hook ups for two sites and inquired about the sizes of lots both families have 2-3 kids and 2 dogs.We were told we could be accommodated on the back side of the lake. The sites were much larger than the beach part, but there was not a sewer hook up and we were in between full-timers who obviously live there. The sign DOES say RV park and campground, but there is no separation. Also, when we called to make reservations, no one told us they didn't "really open" until after Memorial Day, so when we arrived and our kids saw the fantastic structures to jump off into the water, we were extremely disappointed that they said they could not be used until after Memorial Day! The staff was extremely nice, we just felt like we were somewhat...
Read moreHighly recommended IF you want a relaxing campground with gorgeous views! Selected this campground for my annual “getaway” time. There’s much to do between paddle boats, kayaks, swimming (including high jumps and a floating platform), walking & fishing…do as much or as little as you want. It’s lovely to have such wonderful people running the place! They make you feel comfortable and everything about the place feels safe & at ease. My sister and I intend to return and my parents plan to stay there soon for their own adventure. Close to Duplin winery (loved their wine tasting experience & the Bistro!), Boars Head restaurant and pub and a short drive to Wilmington and the NC coastal areas. The beach here is kept clean and family-friendly. Found out the lake is fed by an underwater spring. There is so much wildlife to enjoy. Come see for yourself- just leave a...
