This was a nice state park. However, if you have a big rig, please do not reserve spots around site 91. The sites are decent size, but getting to them and getting out them was terrifying for me. We are 35ft travel trailer, not too small and not too big, but we bottomed out on the hill, and if you see the scrape marks, so does EVERYBODY ELSE. Making the turn was tricky as you can see by the tree, (not made by us), a lot of people hit that too. The hill is about a 30% slope, make sure your truck has the capacity to go back up that hill. These sites only have water and electric with a dump station at the top of the hill. It was off season, so it was pretty quiet, but these sites are right near the grounds keeping maintenance sheds as well, and they do make noise with their equipment. I don't know how this place is in the summer, but it didn't look family friendly to me. The clerk at the check in booth really didn't seem to care very much about his job, (again, off season) but I have never encountered a check in attendant at any park, any where we have traveled, that didn't have a welcoming smile on their face; except this one. I guess everyone is entitled to bad days. We stayed here because it was close to the Natural Arch Scenic Area and...
Read moreIf you are a golfer and you love loud noises on Saturday nights until midnight, this is the place for you. Apparently there is a dirt speedway very close to the park that runs until midnight on Saturday nights. The roaring noises sounded like it was on the other side of the hill. Our neighbor retreated into their camper and said the noise was still distracting. Stay away from Saturday nights! There is a very short trail to an overlook. Very nice view. It isn't on the map they give you yet. Several camping spots are next to the golf courses maintenance area. Not very scenic. Bath house showers were good; nice hot water. Staff seemed nice. I didn't play on the golf course, but it looked nice. Depending on where your located, you can hear the golfers hit shots and speak about how great their shots were. The campsite is close enough to the city where every emergency vehicle out on a call sounded like it was coming through the campsite. When you have stayed at Hillman Ferry campground it sets the bar...
