Quite possibly the most fun while camping our kiddos have ever had! We were a little nervous to stay so close to GR but we were pleasantly surprised! We've stayed at state parks with sites similar in size that had ZERO shade trees; This campground has big beautiful mature trees throughout the entire grounds and our site (B2) was perfectly shaded, we really didn't see any sites without trees although the back RV sites along the edge seemed to back up to the woods vs having the trees on the site and covering you like all of the rest. But if you're "camping" in one of those RVs, I'm sure you have A/C π One of the common complaints about this campground was the small restrooms. I'd happily pee standing up hovering over the toilet if it means the bathrooms are kept as immaculate as these! (And no, the space is not so small that women have to pee standing up). Yes the stalls are smaller than usual because of their age, but you have enough room to pop-a-squat and do your business. If you need more room, just walk by the bathroom stalls & the first few showers and on your right just before exiting to the pool, through a curtain, there is a larger restroom with its own sink. That's also where you could go to get dressed after your shower if you're not comfortable changing in the common area. There are plenty of hooks to hang your toiletry bag, tote and/or towels while you shower, I could easily grab what I needed right from the shower. The entire restroom, pool area, & grounds were kept spotless, not even so much as a stink to complain about. Everyone adhered to the 10pm quiet time, it was amazing and much different than the rambunctious SPs we are used to. The kids'activities were top notch: playground, multiple sandboxes with nice sand toys, a jumping pillow, bounce house, Foursquare, Gaga ball, basketball, and shuffleboard. On the weekend, they had a scavenger hunt, glow tractor ride, craft, barrel train, balloon animals, root beer floats, dunk tank, an inflatable slip n slide, a GIANT inflatable water slide and, my kid's favorite, the foam party! The loops are paved and perfect for biking and scooters. The store is well stocked with lots of fun extras and really good ice cream π The staff was super nice and we can't wait to go back, thank you for a...
Β Β Β Read moreWe heard about Woodchip through a FB giveaway that they did this Spring. We were heading north for the weekend, so we decided to extend our trip by a few days to check them out. They did not disappoint! Our kids had a fantastic time, and our family even made new friends from another state, who we plan to meet up with later this summer. We stayed during the week, so we were not able to enjoy the weekend activities. That said, our kiddos (6 & 7.5 yrs) still stayed very busy and happy. We appreciated that the size of the campground was small enough to always know where the kids were, without having to be with them the whole time. The pool is a good size, and well maintained. The bathrooms are very clean - no bugs on the walls like you find in state parks! The sites are well maintained, and the staff is very pleasant. They are located right in town, so youre very close to stores, etc if you need them. Things that we didnt love, but will not stop us from visiting again: Bathroom stalls are very small - your knees hit the door when sitting on the toilet. 2. Sites are very narrow - the width is exactly the size of our fifth wheel with the awning and slide out. Thankfully the sites are long-ish, so we had just enough room between the road and the camper to park our truck and safely have a bonfire. The size of the sites will stop us from spending more than a couple of nights at a time, as it feels very crowded as the campground fills up. We like to have a little more space between us and our neighbors. 3. Shower stalls are quite small - again, it wont stop us from visiting again, but it will stop us from staying for more than a couple of nights. Your towel and clothing are hanging in a common area, and there is very little room to dry off and get dressed in the stall. Give them a try - youll...
Β Β Β Read moreLots of great activities for little ones (10 and under). Very clean and well maintained facilities. Fabulous church service led by owner. However, very gruff owner walks around patrolling things to the point of making it not fun. We have never had issues camping for the past 10 years, but owner watched over our teens like a hawk making them feel very unwelcome. (they are good kids and weren't causing any trouble).
Campsites were right on top of playground with little ones yelling all day and evening. Very rough crowd, kids fighting, pushing, hitting other kids and little parental supervision.
Rules here seem excessive. They have a beautiful pool, but you can't take in snacks or even water, and rules state no playing marco polo. Fun, almost. They have a great jumping pillow, but you can only jump straight up and down, don't you dare move from place to place or you will be yelled at. You can have fun, almost. Owner went around and told people on nearby sites they were plugged into the wrong pedestal, but none are labeled and it is not clear which go to which sites. Yelled at toddlers in the pool because they didn't have wristbands on (their grandma explained they fell off and were on the chair). Could have been done kindly and not so rough. Bathrooms are very clean but stalls are incredibly small. We will not be...
