Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Cadiz — Hotel in Cadiz

I called ahead to ensure we would have a room upon arrival. We requested a handicapped room, to which we never got, even staying there for 3 days. So they put us on the 2nd floor, all the way at the very end. Having issues getting around, this was not a good place to be, hence the handicap room request. When we got in the room, we discovered that the sink would not drain. So like any good hotel does, they offer me a plunger. Not wanting to bother them any further, I plunge my own sink, to no avail. So I discuss this with the lady at the desk, so she says we can move to a handicap room that night or in the morning. I decided on the morning move, because we were tired from driving all day. Go down the next morning, and another lady says they need that room for someone else coming in. So I asked again about getting the sink fixed. She said the maid would come pour something in the sink, just call when my wife woke up. Tried to call and no one answered the phone. So we had to leave for the day, and when we walked by the front desk, no one was around at all. Also need to add when we run the shower we could see what looked like sediment on the bottom of the tub. We have family near this hotel, and next time we visit we will stay in Steubenville. I have stayed at this location a few times now. Sometimes by myself and sometimes with my wife. We have been very happy each stay. HOWEVER, my last stay was my worst. I checked in around 8 PM and arrived in my 2nd floor room to discover there was no printed TV channel guide. I tried to call the front desk but discovered the room phone wasn't working. I went down to the desk and spoke to the manager who said she would have someone bring a new phone the following day. This never happened. I guess she figured that since I was only 73 yrs old that I wouldn't mind coming down to the desk in person. The next day I discovered dog hair on the sofa in my suite (I didn't have a dog) and brought it to the attention the lady cleaning the rooms on my. She was very apologetic and was in my room within 5 minutes and vacuumed the hair from the sofa. She was very pleasant the whole encounter. This motel should be the model for which all others should be like. It's super clean, convenient, the beds are perfect, breakfast is as good as it gets. I really like being here, the atmosphere is good, the entire staff is top notch, and the management is always finding ways to improve the stay.. on Tuesday evenings, a local pizza place provides dinner, compliments of the motel. On Wednesday, the restaurant next door provides dinner (compliments of the motel, and excellent food). I think they do it again on Fridays.
