Overall, a nice, large park! We reserved a spot in Post Oak and the partial shade, lantern hook, and picnic table were nice extras. Although we wish the spot (55) was wider to allow walk-around of the entire RV. Also would be nice to refurb the table, it was pretty rough. The fire pit was a neat design,, but could use more sand/dirt in it to bring the flame up to the grill grate. This spot had 30amp and water, but had a hard time flipping the breaker fuse on (may be going bad). It would be nice to have a swimming dock in the cove to enhance the swimming experience as well. The restroom was nice/clean but it sure could use more ventilation (when its 100 degrees out). These are suggestions; not complaints, as I volunteer with TPWD and know $$ resources are scarce. Read moreThis park is about an hour and 40 minutes from Houston, so easily accessible. We didn't like our site, but otherwise enjoyed our time here. Sites are asphalt, old and crumbling, but adequate. Our site, number 10, had little shade and lots of stickers. The fire ring was oddly located. We did have an armadillo that visited us most days. The shower house nearest us was old and dirty with lots of wasp nests. Beaches are nice, but you have to avoid the stickery grass. Lots of recreational opportunities at this campground. Staff is very helpful,...
