I am perplexed by the reviews that I have read I have been to all campgrounds so much enjoying the beautiful scenery and enjoyment of the camping experience but DO NOT GO TO MAPLE GROVE I was harrassed by the man and daughter host up on arriving there man approached me I introduce myself he then went away over the course of 2 days this man his daughter and another man each took turns walking past my camp stopping to see what I own and pointing to my camping gear the man host was clearly under the influence of alcohol the other man clearly clearly under influence of drugs each of the 3 coming by my camp over 20 times each daughter comes to my camp yelling for pets that do not exist today while enjoying a pleasant nap I was awakened by these people again yelling outside my camp banging on by door asking for my name which I clearly introduced myself that was the last straw I packed and left DNR please remove these hosts from MAPLE GROVE I would give no stars but this site doesn't give me a option please do not take children or grandchildren here very scary with hosts under...
Read moreHello, I agree with some of the other reviews, however my experience is negative due to the extremely intrusive hosts. There are 6 campgrounds in this area. 4 still belong to AEP, and 2 have been aquired by ODNR. Sandhollow & Maple Grove are the 2 owned by ODNR. I have camped for two weeks at a time at all these campgrounds, and enjoyed my stay. However all the campground hosts as well as other campers warned me that if i stayed at maple grove, i would have zero privacy due to the father daughter hosts that live here fulltime. WARNING, they will approach you many times a day at your campsite, everry time i pull in they approach my vehicle before i can put it in park, there has been times that im working on something at my camp and they inconveniently appear and comment on what im doing. The daughter will show up multiple times a day, and say she is checking to see if im alright. WARNING, if you want to bypass the worst part of your camping trip, go to any...
Read moreCamped there every spring and fall for last 20 years. Great place to go but will not be back since state took over. Loss of freedom. Was just there 9/17/22, Almost made me cry what the state did to the campgrounds. Friends and us went there every spring and fall from 1986 to 2018 till state bought it. Now over half the campsites are closed permanently with over grown weeds , there selling off most the land to the public to build big houses destroying the nature of the campgrounds. Visiting all the campgrounds now and maybe 5 campers in each open campgrounds. Very disappointed in the state and what they've done. Looks like something Biden would do. Sorry to say I'll...
