My family has camped here several times for many years and never had a problem until this past weekend on June 28th. We had friends & family coming from other states to join us so we all had booked 7 sites. 3 under one name & the others under another all next to each other on both sides. We all individually paid for our own sites. We know the rules. Quiet time is 10:30 and we’re watching the time. At 10:23 the owner came up to us already rude and told us that we had to shut our music off right away, that he knows who we are & like to book the big sites & thats why they don’t have big sites anymore. We ignored that comment but a few of us joked that we had 7 minutes left. He cut off my sister as she was speaking & said “I’m not talking to you I’m talking to Mr. 7 minutes” disrespectful. He got angry immediately & said “ok if you wanna play that game you can listen for 7 more minutes & then lights out everything off.”We obv shut our music off bc it wasn’t worth the fight esp since we are just trying to enjoy our vacay. After that we all stayed up til 1am talking then went to our own tents on our own sites & went to sleep. At 4am on 1 of the sites was still awake talking sitting around the fire & listening to Khmer music on his cellphone. Pedro came up to them & started arguing saying that he received “several complaints” that they were being extremely loud. The next morning Pedro came over & ask my SIL to speak with my other SIL or me. (Which I found weird bc my name isnt under any of the sites, & I didn’t speak to him the day before) He spoke to my sister & was rude, told her that all 7 of our sites were being kicked out & we had 1hr to pack up & leave. Obv she & the rest of us were confused. He told us about what happened @ 4am except he said the guys were yelling & playing gangster rap, that it was not up for debate & we needed to leave because we’re all together. I went to go speak to the manager Tammy just to clarify things & see what we could do because at the very least were booked under 2 groups. The site that got “in trouble” wasnt under our name & I wanted to see if we could at least stay so our kids could finish their trip. Tammy made excuses for us and said well it’s better to just leave because it was raining, said that the owner can do whatever he wants, that we are all together so we all have to leave, said we were very loud & no one could sleep. I said well I’m next to that site and I didn’t hear anything she then in my face & said “Well I’m glad you got sleep, lucky for you!” She got rude with us so we went back to our site. We packed up & left. later found out, the last site to leave(friends) had stayed to make their kids food before they left. Pedro went over started a fight w/ them & then called the police. The cops said the owner should’ve never even kicked us out, that he should’ve kicked out the 1 site that was causing the problem & that we should be refunded. This felt very targeted. Pedro said he was concerned for his paying customers even though we too were paying customers who had 7 sites & from the jump clearly had an issue with us. Pedro you should be ashamed of yourself for the way you handle business with us as your customers, it’s disgusting,...

I recently stayed at Branch Brook Campground for a two-night tent camping trip with our family of four (kids ages 3 and almost 6). We reserved two sites in Section 12—Sites 15 and 18. They’re close to each other but separated by some elevation, which provided both convenience and privacy, and options.
A heavy rainstorm passed through just before our arrival. Site 18 is technically a pop-up site, and a camper would not have had any issues using it. However, since we were tent camping, the typical tent area was temporarily flooded. We set up on higher ground on site 15 and stayed dry and comfortable. I wanna note that within 24 hours, the water had completely drained, so even if there are puddles after a storm, they don't linger long. At least not on these sites.
The campsites were clean and well-spaced. Not all sites have cooking grates over the fire, so be prepared to get crafty if you wanna roast dinner over an open fire. However compared to the tent-only sites near the river of the campground, those seem very close together with little privacy between sites. Sites 15 and 18 felt more private and open. If you're tent camping and prefer some space, the larger pop-up sites are a good alternative—just consider choosing higher ground in case of rain.
The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Although the pool was closed for construction, the campground offered a free bounce house/ water slide during our stay, which was a great substitute. Our kids also loved exploring the river and open areas.
There were organized activities throughout the day, including a medallion hunt that our kids really enjoyed. We walked several miles solving clues and finding all the hidden medallions. They were so attached to the experience, they insisted on saying goodbye to almost all the medallion spots before we left. (An expert diversion tactic I never knew of!?!')
The on-site store was well-stocked and reasonably priced. We were able to pick up everything we forgot or needed—ice, firewood, snacks, drinks, and even a tablecloth. The store also had toys, shirts and candy that our kids loved.
We didn’t have time to explore “The Birches,” one of the more popular areas of the campground, but that gives us a reason to return.
Overall, Branch Brook is a great option for families with kids. Especially families who are trying to camp for the 1st time! The sites are clean and spacious, the staff is welcoming, and there’s plenty to do, even without a pool. We will definitely come back and highly...
Read moreI have been going her for about 6 years. We started out in the large group fields and progressively changed to the standard sites as the group was getting too big and there was too many unsavory people there. However, we partied all night with very little issues with Pedro.
They have updated the bath houses a couple years ago. As some had mentioned, they can get dirty from time to time but it does not stay like that all weekend. You have 100's of people a day using them so you have to expect it to not be perfect. The showers have always been free and they run a tank-less hot water system so you NEVER run out. Pedro is pretty laid back and a bit quirky but if you treat him with respect, it goes a long way. The tubing river is great and they charge short money for tubes at the main office/store. They could gouge you but they don't.
Someone mentioned the fire pit being under their camper. The campground does not dig the pits. The campers do. So the move from time to time based on how someone else sets up camp. To complain about this seems silly and just a lack of knowledge about campgrounds.
The pool is great for the kids and it also has a couple water slides they love. They also just 2016 built a new huge playground jungle gym type thing as well.
Plenty of field space to play various games. They have horse shoes & volley ball. Both areas are maintained pretty good.
I have been camping since I was a wee one with my parents. So I have seen quite a few campgrounds over my years. Been thrown out a few as well. Now I am almost 42 and have my own kids. This place suits us very well. We get loud and have big fires but come 11 at night and expect to see Pedro making his rounds asking to please quit down in his...
