Gate City Events & Lodging — Hotel in Canton Township

I thought the house that we rented was absolutely beautiful and very clean when we arrived. The pool and hot tub were very nice and clean. We had so much at the house. Why I am giving the Gate City & Lodging 2 stars is because of the $500 fee that my husband and I had to pay due to what they say damages. The only things that were damaged were 2 chairs. These patio chairs were damaged before we had come to the house which is our fault for not taking pictures of them before but that is besides the point. These other pictures added are the other reasons why we got charged. One was hanging a towel on the bathtub, the bathroom garbage was full, and the other was because there were potatoes by the garbage to be thrown. Even though the rental agreement we signed said we would get charged $150 in our amount for clean up.

Also, we were told we failed to sign a check out form that they were supposed to provide before our stay. We were never provided this checklist and my husband as well as my mom can agree with this because they were with me when I talked to them and paid.

Please when you rent be cautious and take pictures of EVERYTHING before staying. Also, if they charge you for damages they will not ask you how you want to pay they will just...

I cannot say enough about how much I love this place!!! We had our wedding here this past weekend, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! We had the wedding package that had the event center Saturday (with the new addition add on), and the rental house from Friday at noon till Sunday at 3pm. We also had booked out the entire motel, and it couldn’t have been better for our bridal party, guests, and out of town family! The event center is beautifully remodeled with a stunning bridal suite. The rental house is also recently remodeled and it is gorgeous (photos don’t do it justice)! And the amazing family that owns and runs this venue is a dream to work with! Gate City deserves more than 5⭐️!! The house, event center, campground and motel far exceeded our expectations for our sons wedding. The owners are so incredibly accommodating and their hospitality is out of the park amazing. It was so nice having such a beautiful location for the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, outdoor wedding and then a few feet away a beautiful building to host the party and knowing we were within walking distance to hang it up for the night in the house was such a sigh of relief.
