I would have rated this place higher except for a few basic things that were really a turn off. The first issue which really was just unacceptable was that the carpets in the hallway on my floor were truly just filthy...i have attached photos. This was not the type of dirt and spots that had happened just recently either - you could tell it had been there for awhile...and just based on the sheer number of dirt and drink spots all over the hall carpet you can only draw the conclusion that they haven't bothered to clean the carpet in ages. The carpet inside my room was clean and in good shape - and while overall the room was ok, there was a major cut or tear in the vinyl baseboard on the corner of the wall which should have been repaired. All that said, the worst problems for me were still to come. First of all, the bed was literally the absolute hardest and truly the MOST uncomfortable that I have ever slept on in my entire life...and I've traveled extensively for 30 yrs on business and pleasure. I literally barely slept during the two nights I was there - this was also due to the fact that you couldn't adjust the small AC unit below 68. While this temp would normally be ok for me, the small unit wasn't powerful enough to keep the whole room cool even when set at that temp. Another small complaint was that we got a drink at the bar and the cost was over $11 for a vodka tonic...it just seems on the excessive side for a hotel of this caliber - so despite the torrential downpour we left and went out for dinner - just on principle. Also, for breakfast you can only get the buffet for $11 - this is admittedly a good value for all you can eat breakfast, but all I wanted was a yogurt...and they don't even sell yogurt in the little pantry area either. The lady working the restaurant was kind enough to give me a free bowl of yogurt from the buffet (although I offered to pay)...and while I appreciated her gesture I didn't feel comfortable asking her to do the same thing for me the next day - so I skipped breakfast...not the end of the world for me, but at a decent hotel you should be able to get one or two a la carte breakfast items either at the restaurant or lobby pantry area. On the positive side the lobby is very attractive as is the pool area. Also the staff was very friendly and you get free bottled water and cookies at check in. I have stayed on business at many Hilton Garden Inns (this was for pleasure) and this one isn't up to standard in several ways. It's a shame because most of the issues could be pretty easily remedied - except the mattresses I guess would be a major expense...but if all the mattresses are as bad as mine was then they should all be replaced. I am not a very picky traveler, and I do understand that HGI hotels aren't meant to be 5 star...but cleanliness, good repair, and a comfortable bed should be the bare minimum one would expect. The place was pretty crowded though so some people must like it - but I couldn't recommend it based on my experience. Dirty carpets just reflect poor management and basic disrespect for guests. Even sometimes the trash in the lobby trash can would be so full you couldn't put another thing in it - just not a...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fort Myers and was deeply disappointed with the experience, which unfortunately compels me to write this review. From the outset, my stay was marred by a series of issues that significantly detracted from the comfort and convenience one would expect from a hotel of this reputation and price point. The room was equipped with an air conditioning unit and a fridge, both of which produced a constant, loud noise throughout the night. This made it incredibly difficult to get a good night's sleep, which was the primary reason for my stay. Additionally, despite being a member with supposed benefits, I was surprised to find no complimentary water in the room. This oversight forced me to purchase water, adding an unnecessary inconvenience and expense.A particularly glaring issue was the complete absence of soap in the shower. The liquid soap dispenser had not been refilled, a basic amenity I had taken for granted until I found myself without it mid-shower. When I contacted the front desk for assistance, I spoke with a staff member named Jessy. Unfortunately, Jessy was anything but helpful. His response was to direct me to contact my booking company, a suggestion that was both baffling and frustrating, as my concerns were clearly with the hotel's services and not the booking process.Jessy's lack of concern and refusal to offer any form of compensation or even an apology for the inconvenience were deeply disappointing. Considering the room rate of $200 per night, the level of service and attention to guest comfort was well below what I had expected. As a result of these issues and the staff's indifferent response, I checked out with a firm decision never to return to this establishment. Furthermore, I feel compelled to advise my colleagues and company to avoid doing business with this Hilton Garden Inn...
Read moreI am very sorry to tell, but for us this was a Terrible hotel, left a really bad and sad feeling. When we arrived at the hotel 14.3.2023, we were happy as the long drive had gone well, but at the reception we were met by a woman who did give us a room and even half an hour before it was promised, we were grateful for that. But the woman didn't smile at all, didn't even say welcome. When we went to the room, there was a loud TV from another room. The room had an intermediate door to the next room and that's why the sound was so loud. We went out to eat and when we came back the noise was still there. I went to the reception to ask that I could change the room to one without an intermediate door as we should be able to sleep when we have to leave early in the morning. The same woman was at the reception and told me that the hotel is fully sold and all the customers have already arrived, she cannot change the room. I said it's really bad and left. Right after me came a woman who just took the room, so the woman in reception had already lied to me at this point. When I went to my room, I looked online to see how many rooms were available in the hotel. I went back down and asked why she lied to me, she didn't even look at me. Unbelievably bad customer service and we are at the Hilton after all! In addition, the room was clean, but worn and really old, definitely not worth the price and breakfast is not included in the price! (But the breakfast was the only place in this hotel, we had friendly service) I can...
